Fiat asked what comes after SUVs, and says there is space between MPVs and SUVs with this, the Multiplay Concept. Six seats plus a dog seat, and a rear load bed. And a sunbed can be configured too.

Finally the Opel STX (Sports Tourer Experimental) Concept, so a future sporty estate. Was interesting that Opel's boss went big on how it's a German brand with German engineering and built in Europe. No acknowledgement of Vauxhall at all.

Then the 2 CV, which I've already posted about. Again, €15,000 and looks fab. Should be with us in production form within two years.

This is the Peugeot RCZ concept. Great to see this sports car making a comeback. Described as "the expression of our Feline Future design direction". Looks so sleek but also has tech: a solid state battery, the Hypersquare steering wheel and steer by wire. Latter two coming, first with new e-208.

First up, Alfa Romeo talked about how it is the premium brand for people who love driving. The Cuorerosso Concept is its boldest car ever, its boss Santo Ficili said, and shows the company's design direction. Beautiful but I'm not sure those A pillars will make production.

Next, DS showed the F3ver Concept, which shows the direction for the next DS3. Good to see small hatches making a comeback. The rear lights are cool.

New Citroën 2 CV Concept. 😀 Based on Stellantis's new E-Car platform, so incredibly affordable. They're aiming for €15,000, which is under £13k. Won't be fast, won't have the most range, but it'll probably be fun, compact and practical. Also, it looks awesome.

The thing about judging awards is that you don't always get the outcome you want. With Motor Awards 2026 I also couldn't control every part of our write-up. But there were long lists, short lists and hearty debates, I can assure you, and these are all great winners. www.thetimes.com/article/9763...

Last year they were even more laughable. Some this year were incredible -- and somewhat terrifyingly more advanced. We probably have five more of these games before the robot uprising.

If you worry alot about AI, China's Robot Olympics is here to reassure you that things are going to be OK.

Ever wanted to ride at a velodrome? Thanks to Team GB sponsor Vauxhall I got to try it out yesterday and, despite being a big lump, I did ok -- Times and ST on top. I may ask for a raise after this. Ed Clancy, btw, has three gold medals and one bronze. Plus he's an absolutely top bloke. Vid in Sep.

If I were running a newspaper: 1. There'd be more positive news and no stories about dead children. 2. I'd dramatically reduce football coverage and up the F1. 3. There would be a weekly motoring section. 4. All comment pieces would be peer-reviewed. Which is why I'll never run a newspaper.

I first fell in love with the Porsche 356 after seeing it in Top Gun, and the desire grew with the replica in 48 Hours. This morning I got to drive one, and it was even better than I had imagined - beautiful engine, sophisticated ride, predictable steering. Drive your heroes.

Quite an evening here at West Dean. I'm gearing up for Goodwood tomorrow but before I go anywhere I'll be driving some of these. Stupid not to. #Porsche #FoS

I did the two-day Sport Auto perfektions training course at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in a Porsche 911 Turbo S... and managed not to stuff it into the Armco, which was my no.1 goal. Can't call myself a 'Ringmeister by any stretch but this was a brilliant experience. Words and vid soon(ish).

Drove the Audi RS 5 today. No embargo so I can say that it's not prefect but... bloody brilliant. Hugely characterful and like nothing else through corners, hiding its weight. Unbelievable grip and cornering ability. But also comfortable for cruising. V complicated, though. And around £90k.
