Hi! I'm part from @wearemasseffect.bsky.social so adding some context. We tried to find common ground with the person who created the petition, with no success. They do not speak for most of us. We originally also added BioWare's name in the Times Sq billboard and they denied it due to copyright

One thing about #SaveMassEffect: What really sucks & cannot be undone is all the folks at BioWare who lost their jobs. Even if EA licensed the IP, that doesn't solve anything for them. 😕 Someone with a lotta cash would have to license it AND hire the team.

BioWare, founded in 1995 and acquired by EA in 2007, was a fan-favorite studio responsible for several big hits including Baldur's Gate, KOTOR, and Dragon Age Origins but has had some stumbles over the last decade. Around 50 staff had been working on a new Mass Effect that is now canceled.

Mass Effect 1 is such a special game. There’s a conviction and a raw energy to it that the rest of the saga never quite has in the same way. It feels like the fascination of someone who has just discovered fire, almost as if it were the first video game ever made. #MassEffect

I watch the trailer for the next Mass Effect game almost every day, it’s become a habit. ME means a lot to me, and I still can’t quite believe we’re getting a new installment. I genuinely hope it turns out great so we can keep enjoying this universe for a long time. #MassEffect

Huh... my little interview made IGN News.... ok? I guess I spoke/wrote more freely than I usually do. My bad I guess. But more than the game ME: Andromeda being done dirty - the studio, the PEOPLE in that studio, were done dirty. That's the bigger takeaway. Those people deserved better.
