www.wiltshiremuseum.org.uk/news-article... There have been discussions with Julian’s friends and colleagues about the length of time he could talk continuously about Stonehenge. Estimates ranged around the 5 hour mark. But there’s only one way to answer this question - a ‘Stonehengeathon’!

And now (well, tomorrow at 3pm), something from the back catalogue - how the Neolithic House replicas at the Stonehenge Visitor Centre were built. You most likely won't have seen this anywhere previously. Starring Julian and Luke, back in 2014. www.youtube.com/@julianricha...

With @weborguk.bsky.social help in digitising I have produced a reappraisal of Hawley's excavations from a century ago, many details and insights have been forgotten - www.sarsen.org/2026/08/hawl...
BBC News this morning around 7.15, @remyveness.bsky.social talking about his team's research suggesting the Altar Stone could have been glacially moved to Doggerland but not as far as Stonehenge - humans doing the rest as sea levels rose. But that inundation was in the mesolithic, not neolithic. /1
Just a couple of weeks until Ep 1 of Julian Richards' new 11 part documentary "Stonehenge - Access All Areas" drops on his YouTube channel on May 3rd. Like, subscribe and share! www.youtube.com/@julianricha...
@amandachadburn.bsky.social - these are the postholes I mentioned (holes 1 to 4 in Plate 3 of MEC's monograph) just outside of the causeway entrance but effectively under the henge bank, so probably early features. The E-W sightline has been (hurriedly, by me) marked with dashes. See you soon!

Cameron split English Heritage from Historic England in 2015, bunged EH a one-off £80m & untied its moorings. It was never going to work @suegreaney.bsky.social: "the only solution is for English Heritage to be taken back in by the nation, and renationalised,” www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/07...

Every so often (like, about every couple of days) I find myself wishing that the PDF of "Stonehenge in its Landscape" (Cleal et al, 1995) on ADS (archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/archives/vie...) wasn't a poorly scanned copy but one that contained the text as text. It'd make searching the thing easier.
