This is shitty punditry. Republicans are rarely asked to denounce their extremists because the media gets bored at how bigotry and extremism permeates their entire party from top to bottom. Then they get giddy at any hint of controversy on the left, it's all they can talk about.

In my Minneapolis household we still have conversations where I say very helpful reassuring things like "but they're not doing that so much in our area right now." By which I mean "you're safe to go for a walk, worry less about federal paramilitary street shakedowns of brown people."

Still living with the trauma from Metro Surge, and one of the two major political parties is filled exclusively with electeds and candidates who endorse, or wouldn't lift a finger to oppose, a campaign of racial terrorism if their leader ever decided to turn up the dial on us again.

So it makes me a little sick to imagine even the smallest possibility that any statewide election in Minnesota could be a close call.

I continue to receive bad-faith MAGA mailers attacking Amy Klobuchar for failing to support the "progressive revolution." Can't fool me though.

Guy at Aldi just walked away with a lady's shopping cart. Lady shouts excuse me excuse me! And then chased after him. He realized he mistook it for his cart and apologized. Long story short, Moriarty won't prosecute. No surprise to anyone.

Naive innocent with childlike understanding of the world: "Could this really be real? Does this Democrat really want Republican endorsements?" Me, a Larry Jacobs level pundit: "Yes, as long as none of the rest of us learn about it."

For years we've been told the DSA is a menace — a threat to our very way of life — by the same Frey guys courting MAGA Republican support for their candidate for Hennepin county attorney.

Local TV keeps telling me it's controversial for a streamer to believe American foreign policy choices invited the 9/11 attacks. Since the twin cities TV market bleeds into Wisconsin, please let them know their Republican senator believes 9/11 was an inside job.

Key issues before voters in the 2026 midterms: ➡️Trump raiding the home of a member of congress to solve the mystery of whether Ilhan Omar is really named Ilhan Omar ➡️Trump amplifying the woman who abetted the rape of the Democratic candidate for governor of Ohio ➡️Gas prices

Glad they unearthed the black and white high school yearbook photo but it's only going to increase the weaponization of federal law enforcement when Trumpers realize Ilhan Omar was the girl in high school who wouldn't give them the time of day.

I should have mentioned that my office is Minneapolis Elections & Voter Services. The Mayor's budget eliminates seven staff members less than two weeks before an anxiety-inducing midterm. No more high school election judge program. No more voter outreach.

When the mayor's proposed budget eliminates half our office, we fortify ourselves with baked goods. Yesterday it was pastries from Dahlia. Today our colleague baked for us.

San Francisco's latest walking tour takes people past cats in windows, and apparently, the demand is enormous. Nearly 100 people gathered Saturday for a neighborhood “catwalk,” a free afternoon stroll past the homes of local cats, all volunteered by their owners for a moment in the spotlight.

Don't trust anyone using Anders Folk as a testimonial for the illegal peptides they sell in the parking lot of a Planet Fitness. Not FDA approved. You don't know where they came from.

Wedge LIVE!™@wedge.live

I asked the Waymo rep whether they allow their cars to park in bike lanes. She said they do, depending on city regulations. Would they comply if the city prohibits parking in bike lanes? She said she would have to get back to me on that. LAWLESS!

Today the Minneapolis City Council's Climate & Infrastructure Committee will be discussing the city's 2-way bikeways and conflicts with right turning vehicles at signalized intersections. Most of these intersections don't have signage prohibiting a right turn through a red light.

Good news for Anders Folk in the Whittier neighborhood: blood thirsty infants are coming to eat your fully developed adult brains.

Iron clad rule of politics: the longer the election goes on, the more mall bombers we must unearth to sustain the effort.

I'm urging everyone who had to get an AI summary to tell them who Hasan Piker is to not weigh in on the CONTROVERSY. This includes all of our elderly TV pundit political science professors.

People don't realize that Dawanna Witt owes her reelection to Josh Martin barnstorming Hennepin county saying "I'm proud of you, son" to thousands of voters after talking them out of voting for the crackpot menswear magnate Joseph A Banks.

Minnesota law enforcement officials announce new strategy to allow for things like connecting spent bullet casings in one community to recovered guns in another — something you probably thought we'd been doing routinely since at least the mid-90s.

I tell my patients to get away from the who, what, where, when narrative of whatever crime headline they just saw and focus on how Moriarty makes them feel. This helps move them out of their head and into their body. Then I tell them her term is almost over, it's going to be ok.

Every time I hear that police are frequently unable to do their jobs because Mary Moriarty is so abrasive — I pinch myself, I look at the crime stats, and then I salute law enforcement for how much good they've done despite this rude lady (who took office in 2023).

To the people going around pronouncing "Anders Folk" in a German accent. It's not funny. It's offensive. There's no comparison between this man's name, however unsettling it may be, and Germany in the 30s.

The strongest possible tacit endorsement! Accountability for ICE still a big deal for a lot of people, but Frazier's pledge to prosecute is framed as a "deflection."

David Brauer@dbrauer.net

Tacit Anders Folk endorsement from Strib’s Eric Roper. A fishing of Cedrick Frasier’s ties to Moriarty, but none to Folk’s ties to Republicans and cops … (one of Mary’s best things was having the guts to keep thumper cops from testifying in cases) www.startribune.com/mary-moriart... (gift link)

Opinion puts a lot on the importance of personality and relationships, but no credit to Frazier for being well-regarded legislator. He seems to check those boxes better than Folk.

Moriarty is "aloof" and "abrasive" - can't get along with the chief! No mention of that the chief she couldn't get along with was later discovered to be a lying maniac who destroyed evidence to cover up his own misconduct. Maybe he was the impossible personality in that relationship.

Minnesota Republican candidates playing the anti-anti game. Can't embrace Trump because too many voters hate that. Can't reject Trump because he owns them. They're stuck awkwardly scolding the opposition to Trump as the real source of our problems. youtu.be/wscRFawAOwg
