Introduce yourself with some jobs you have done apart from what you do now: Shop assistant, Dancer, Video shop owner Computer Programmer,

What was your first computer growing up? Mine was a self-built Z-80 with a custom OS burned into an EEPROM from paper tape, written using a PDP-8 with a teletype interface. This image is someone else's, with cleaner work than my little monster. OS also scanned the keyboard, with Nixie tube output.

But what if our thinly disguised goal is to create impossible regulatory barriers for competition, and we'll just luxuriate in having the only systems capable of solving complex problems - all we need do is freak out enough people and ever willful short term shallow thinkers will do our work for us.

incredible that you can thanklessly work on something for 22 years and then be retroactively declared a hack because you used AI to do something that would otherwise be intractable for a single human to do in a timely fashion lotta cutting off your nose to spite your face in the replies here

My guess is the chick is just using what wings it does have at that age to stabilize itself to find its stall speed and get a little away from the cliff face and then adjusting for a little more speed once the forward vector is sufficient to clear the face.

Today I set out to understand how barnacle geese chicks, who launch themselves off of cliff faces hundreds of feet high within days of hatching, survive their extreme falls. Friends, I did not succeed. Let me tell you what I did find. 1/8 ⚛️🧪

So, working on an automated proof system, which is a subsystem for much more expansive project in my one man with an iPad retirement show: Claude: “…estimate half a day’s work for the primitive nats function set” Claude, 7m 30s later: “cogitated for 7m 30s, committed” Never change Claude.

So, bsky engineer types. I’ve stood up a PDS server and gotten it to connect to bsky, but my older (4 day old) test posts don’t show but if i create new ones do. I’d like to create a good deal of info in post form up to a year old. Is there a limit on the createdAt timestamps? cc: @pfrazee.com

To follow up, backdated posts are allowed. My problem seemed to be rKeys being generated by my app instead of letting the PDS do it, since it appears to require the embedded timestamp. PDSing is fun as you learn the limitations. I keep thinking of new stuff to build in the future.

pick up the nearest book, turn to page 42, and post the second sentence “Leveraging the enzymatic power of koji, you can coax flavors out of food you wouldn’t be able to use otherwise.”

QOTD timeline cleanse: Post the first photo in your roll when you type in “blue sky.” … (I guess it picked up on the blue background, and it’s. a video clip, but still…)

As an avid concertgoer and amateur statistician, I have noticed that, with every year of concertgoing since I hit my mid 40's, the percentage of thin bald men with black frame glasses and short graying beards in attendance has increased by an estimated 3% with every show.
