States already spend millions and devote immense resources to recover after disasters, but they can’t do it alone. Disasters will only continue to hurt our communities, and the federal government needs to be there to help. We need to work across the aisle to reform FEMA, not destroy it.

The Trump Administration is attempting to cut staff and services from Head Start, which supports our kids and their families. I visited the Head Start center in Rutland to hear how this could hurt Vermont and share how I’m fighting against it.

On Indigenous Peoples' Day, we celebrate their contributions to our society. We must recommit also ourselves to reckoning with past harms so we create a stronger future together.

NEW: Many of the things you buy every day would’ve been cheaper this year if it wasn’t for President Trump’s tariffs. He’s making a choice to cost you money with his trade war.

The White River National Fish Hatchery has been reviving native fish species in Vermont and New York for decades. But now the Trump Administration wants to shutter it.   I’m leading a letter to protect the work that's healing our ecosystem and boosting tourism revenue.

Folks in Brattleboro have the same concerns as the other Vermonters I’ve during my Common Grounds tour. They want Congress to lower the cost of health care, energy, and housing, rather than giving tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans. I’ll keep fighting to bring us out of this affordability crisis.

The Trump Administration is slashing fuel efficiency standards for cars. It means you’ll pay thousands more at the pump over the lifetime of your car, especially as Trump’s illegal war with Iran drives gas prices even higher. https://bit.ly/47FRL4j

It’s been three years since Israel was shaken by a horrifying terror attack by Hamas resulting in the brutal assault, torture, and killing of over 1,400 civilians, and hundreds held hostage. Today, I’m thinking of the victims, their families, and those around the world devastated by that dark day.

The Trump Administration has rolled back a Biden-era rule that added sexual orientation and gender identity protections for students. It’s a disgusting attack on the civil rights of students who want to safely learn like everyone else.

The Trump Administration’s latest refugee policy says nothing about our Afghan allies, who are stranded overseas waiting to reunite with their families in the U.S. They risked their lives to help American soldiers. We can’t turn our back on them.

10 years ago, David Levin went to jail for launching a cyberattack on Florida’s election database.   It appears that the Trump Administration just hired him to monitor elections.   I want to know why.

A Vermont cheesemaker lost nearly $1 million in Canadian sales last year because of President Trump’s tariffs. This is happening all over the country, it’s choking our small businesses.

Artificial intelligence is at a tipping point. Experts are telling us the dire consequences of inaction.   That’s why I’ve reintroduced legislation with @bennet.senate.gov to establish an independent agency to protect Americans from the harms of AI.

Right now, forever chemicals like PFAS are regularly found in plastic bottles and are seeping into our waterways.   That’s why I’m introducing a bill to ban these products and fine corporations who poison our communities.

Glad to meet with President Zelenskyy during his visit to New York. The U.S. must continue to stand with the Ukrainian people who have been bravely defending their homeland against Putin’s invasion.

Outdated tax codes are scaring off developers from building affordable housing.   I’m introducing a bill to lower fees so we can build more housing and lower the cost of mortgages and rent.

During Hispanic Heritage Month, we celebrate the people whose culture, innovation, and impact is felt in small, everyday moments. To the Hispanic community in Vermont and across the nation: you belong here. Abrazos.

Clean energy like solar and wind produces the cheapest electricity on the market. It saves you money and fights the climate crisis.   I'm introducing legislation with @vanhollen.senate.gov to speed up the development of green energy projects and achieve 100% renewable energy generation by 2046.

The Jewish community in Vermont and around the world concluded observance of the High Holy Day season amidst record levels of antisemitism in America. Bigotry has no place in our society. I stand alongside our Jewish friends and against antisemitism in any form.

College students already deal with enough stress. Worrying about how they’ll get their next meal shouldn’t be one of them. That’s why I’m joining @schiff.senate.gov to introduce a bill to create a new grant program that would give students access to the healthy food they need.

The U.S. has now spent more than $38 billion on the Iran War. That money could be spent lowering the cost of health care, of groceries, of energy bills. But instead, it’s being spent on a war of choice.

I voted against the Farm Bill that Republicans forced out of the Agriculture Committee. It doesn’t give farmers the help they desperately need, it doesn’t provide food assistance to millions going hungry, and it doesn’t help rural communities constantly getting left behind.

Just a few days ago, a clearly marked Doctors Without Borders bus was struck by an Israeli military airstrike. Now, President Trump has approved sending 40,000 one-ton bombs to Prime Minister Netanyahu. The U.S. can't continue to supply weapons being used to commit war crimes.

President Trump said he was going to lower costs. Gas is at $4.36/gallon and Americans are paying hundreds of dollars more for housing than when he came back into office. And he’s spending his time fighting to get his name on the side of a building.

Glad to visit Camp Johnson for the groundbreaking of a new center that’ll provide financial, legal, and health services to Vermont National Guard families. I worked with @sanders.senate.gov to secure $2 million for this project that honors the sacrifices of service members and their families.
