My #BirdOfTheDay is an awkwardly-proportioned Green Egret #OnOneLeg and on the prowl for small pond-dwellers. #Birds

My #BirdOfTheDay for the theme of #BrownBirds is this everyday house sparrow, totally unaware of his role in creating a lovely composition. #Birds #ProspectPark

Just learned about #SquirrelSaturday and I have so many squirrels to choose from! Here’s one frozen in its protective posture shortly after a Cooper’s Hawk glided past.

My #birdoftheday for the theme of #juveniles is one of my favorite snaps: a Ruby-Throated Hummingbird feeding her chick in its incredible little nest. #birds #prospectpark

So many #Black&White #Birds to choose from for #BirdOfTheDay and I picked a Canada Goose? I just like the shot.

My #elegant bird for #birdoftheday is an unlikely one: a Common Grackle displaying its iridescence while bathing. #birds

A Northern Mockingbird takes flight with an Osmanthus berry. Juveniles can be hard to identify because of the heavily speckled breast, but the white underwing patches give it away. Greenport, NY. #birds
