ALL search data updates (due to actions like page edits, creations, deletions) are paused until the maintenance is close to finishing. Once resumed, it may take several hours for the backend to catch up.

Our latest platform update went live a few days ago (whoops) with a few updates: our media storage migration is complete, allowing PDFs and animated WEBPs to be uploaded; Special:WantedFiles no longer lists files from Commons Wiki; and many more! Please note, this update DOES require a service interruption, namely while your wiki is upgrading you will not be able to upload files (estimated 15min-2hr on most wikis, possibly longer for the couple wikis with the most files on our platform).

(Individual wikis can request further increases to video/audio (or any) file size as needed, in an effort to encourage archiving over embedding YouTube videos. These requests will be approved on a case-by-case basis.)

- In general our speed to render files and pages should go up a bit - PDF uploads will be enabled on all wikis - Soon after, apng support will also be added (not immediate after upgrade but this upgrade is a requirement for that to happen)

We've updated our firewall rules out of necessity to combat an ongoing rogue AI crawler wave. Although we try to minimize the impact on users, this may still cause some traffic to be flagged incorrectly. You can tell this happened if you're repeatedly prompted for a CAPTCHA in quick succession.

Terraria Wiki (and no other wikis) will have a planned maintenance on Monday, February 24 at 8 AM UTC. This maintenance is expected to have 10 minutes or less of downtime for the Terraria Wiki. This is to help ensure that the caching issue that occurred earlier will not occur again.

Quick heads-up: Anyone using #argmap will need to specify a delimiter because the default will change soon, likely this week. If you don't know what #argmap is, you likely aren't using it so ignore this. No other platform update this week; work continues on the MediaWiki update!
