Remember when applying "2000" to product names meant it was a futuristic product and ahead of its time? Naming something with 2000 now makes it appeal to a vintage mindset.

Just picked one of these up. By far the best keyboard experience I have ever had. The piano patches are great on here and I find myself switching depending on if I'm playing show tunes or going for the Nashville sound.

I understand many criticisms of LLMs including making people dumber... But doesn't anyone find the irony these studies used computers--machines that were literally invented to think for human beings?

Doctor Who needs to rest. Each era after Moffat just gets louder and less grounded. Before the next iteration, let this tired old thing rest and find incubate for the next renewal. Curse you Disney+ deal. We have so many open plot holes from the last 2 seasons that will never get resolved on screen

I'm in my mid fifties and still learning new things. I set up my first Linux server with a web service running on it last week. After all this time in macOS, I'm finally diving into the terminal commands and SSH. Basics for many, but I was spoiled growing up with Visual Studio and its wizards.

Code reviews are getting weird. Just whose code am I reviewing? If it's an entry dev who I'm mentoring...would they understand my comments? Or would they be offended because it was their decision not the AI? #vscode #GitHubCopilot #GitHub #CursorAI #claudecode

I've been working with 2 less experienced coders who have never created Flutter apps on a big project these past couple of weeks. We're using Cursor to fill in the knowledge gaps. There are some issues, but as the tech improves, there are definite career threatening implications here. #vibecoding

Working on my first vibe, coding project using Cursor. I still don’t get how non-coders can do this… but they are. One mistake, and no source control can kill a solution in less than a minute.

I wonder if it's possible to agree with some great things this administration is doing, but also use my brain to criticize what I don't like. Because I am not happy about one thing doesn't mean I'm going to completely realign my entire thought process left or right.

Every keyboard needs a hardware switch that allows me to permanently make the function keys mean F1 through F12. Not software. Not a stupid FN button. A physical switch. I need function keys more than I need to constantly adjust screen brightness. If you want to be fancy, add a stupid volume knob.

Desktop software makers, especially Adobe and Microsoft: let users opt out of the annoying text popups pointing out new features every time you update. I don't care any more. I want to get work done instead of being reminded of things like "You can chat with your PDF document now! How exciting!"

When Doug first showed up a few years ago, it was a brilliant sketch showing how both sides of the coin can share similar opinions. His abbreviated return last night unraveled the original spirit Tom Hanks' character. "Out of context" as they say.

ChatGPT may be coming for my job, but in the meantime, it helped me make the most tender pork roast dish I have ever made in my life. I'm talking melt in your mouth, it's so tender. #chatgpt

I had to completely block a village idiot from my Facebook feed today. It's one thing to look at things political objectively. But to tout a politician as chosen by God Himself at every opportunity is just stupid.

This hits hard. No one should have this much power in our government. It is ridiculous how the cards have fallen these past couple of weeks. (Well, past few years. This took some planning.)

Adam Kinzinger@adamkinzinger.substack.com

I’m old enough to remember when we had 3 branches of government. Forget checks and balances. I guess we are a Muskocracy now.

My elementary school history teacher used to ask, "what does that have to do with the price of eggs in China?" I have recently started using a variant of that phrase with an ugly emphasis on "that".

What did I say? If I can predict his behavior, a mere middle-aged citizen, I bet our enemies can also use this to manipulate us.

You saw it here first. Rather than boasting about crowd sizes, we're about to have the most watched TV inauguration in history. Even greater than Roosevelt's.

On Facebook, someone Hegseth was qualified because he’s not afraid of saying he loves Jesus. I love Jesus therefore I qualify equally right? Hey, I had GI Joe action figures too, so I have the edge.

This paints a picture of the scale.

Hard to process the devastation I’ve witnessed in the last two days. Still in a state of shock for those who have lost so much in such a short period of time. #NoWords 💔
