I was checking the accuracy of something the other day and stumbled upon the discovery that I've actually been quoted a couple of times on Wikipedia. Many of my articles have been used as citations/sources for the site in recent years, but I wasn't aware my words were used there. Just kind of neat.

Movie catch-up: Just Play Dead (2026) feels so fast, with too many twists and none that stick. It's a waste of the actors and premise. No one is likeable, and it tries to pull people in with a sexy story, but won’t commit to anything. I hope this bullet dodges you.

If you love dinosaurs, fake American accents, and movies where the mom is the best, The End of Oak Street (2026) is a perfect lost episode of Spielberg’s Amazing Stories. Abrams is paying homage, but has no plans to explain how this story works. I preferred the alternate ending.

Spider-Noir (2026) is an enjoyable retelling with excellent visuals in color or black and white, especially the last episode. Nick Cage is the worst part of the show, not in every scene, but in many, while the rest of the acting is quite solid, and it's a shame we won’t get more.

The MCU watch-along continues with Ant-Man (2015). I forgot how fun the visuals are – especially at the end – but remembered Paul Rudd was great and charming. The character tensions add to the conflict, and most of the secondaries aren't annoying, while several jokes work well.

The Hunted (1995) is where a guy sleeps with a woman on a business trip who is beheaded by a ninja. Now, the bad guy from The Shadow is trying to kill him, and our hero is protected by an asshole samurai. There's some nudity, an excellent train fight, but everything else sucks.

Wanted to discuss the other part of Hellraiser: Revival I loved: its exquisite architecture. See how much these constructs added to the experience. Rambling Wilds | Hellraiser: Revival, Constructing the Labyrinths - www.patreon.com/StephenWilds... #hellraiser #horror #videogames #HellraiserRevival

For movies, we saw what I'd call a bad vampire movie, Habit (1995/7). It’s not-so-secretly about addiction, but manages to mostly bore and confuse audiences. The pacing is whack, the acting is bad, and that ending is unfulfilling.

Romeo+Juliet (1996) is something we might dare call a classic, even if I remember my high school teacher burying it before the film. The visuals, soundtrack, and Mercutio are stunning in this presentation of Shakespeare, and it was great seeing it again after so long.

The Furious (2025) is a martial arts film with excellent fights, solid camera work, and decent characters. The colors are muted, like some scenes have an odd filter. The tone is strange, with serious subjects, then a couple of comedic moments like meleeing each other with bikes, and a brutal ending.

The best part of the movie is the cinematography, shooting without permits to capture this scuzzy, bare New York. Love and a .45 (1994) was a movie I always heard about, but was never interested enough to pull the trigger on. Surprisingly enjoyable, with charming characters,

a young Renee Zellweger, and enough strangeness to keep people interested. The bad guy is from one of my favorite movies, Empire Records, so huge win. "If you gotta die, die good."

Back on Patreon to shine a light on this gem of '90s sci-fi mixed with a police procedural in space, a television show that is woefully not spoken about enough. I'm doing my part in bringing Space Precinct back to the masses! Rambling Wilds | Space Precinct 2040 - www.patreon.com/StephenWilds...

The Genma are back, stronger, but things feel a little different in this new Onimusha. It might feel a bit strange at first, and some people will love the swordplay, while other elements fall just short. My review of Onimusha: Way of the Sword. - www.theouterhaven.net/onimusha-way...

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced was a wonderful revisit of an excellent game, but it was also incredibly depressing.
