I want to reupholster a couch with a pull-out bed so that I can buy lots of fabric that matches it. Then I can pick a fabric element that's easy to swap out and make copies for each guest, with their name embroidered on it. For each guest I will act like their name is just on the couch, always.

I had a dream that somebody was getting rid of a rubber mallet. And I got really excited because I remembered needing a rubber mallet recently and asked them for it. And now, you know that I had that dream, because I posted it online. I do not need a rubber mallet.

*okay not the ENTIRE series twice. The first listen through, the final episode had not come out yet. I've listened to the first episode with multiple people I've recommended it to though, so six of one or half dozen of the other, right?

I think I met an older version of myself today We had a great discussion where I guessed why certain decisions had been made in the running of his business and he'd say yeah that's exactly why I did that, and then he'd expand on it Very cool to learn from him. I hope I get to pick his brain more.

My tie rack which has several ties hanging on it, is a symbol of great wealth because most people only have one or two ties and the tie rack with a spot to hang several ties is actually a very difficult and expensive item to acquire.

Anybody else remember that time I figured shit out all by myself about the Thue Morse sequence and then went to see if Wikipedia already knew about it and it did? I do 🤬

I'm quite satisfied, however, to find that I disagree with the result of the fair share sequence for more than two people, which apparently begins 0 1 2 1 2 0 2 0 1 I agree that the math provides this result when you expand it into ternary, but I think 2's second turn should be before 1's.

Why is anyone acting like it makes any sense to refund companies for tariff expenses when they've been so loud about passing those expenses onto consumers? The tariffs let Trump tax the working class and give rich people a tax break, now he wants to give rich people more money to make up for it.

Thomas Edison is quoted saying that genius is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration. Money is great because I can perspire in a restaurant kitchen or at a computer and as a result, water comes out of the faucet and my house is warm. Coming to TEDx: The Commutative Property of Perspiration.

I simply have to pass this on. If you struggle with websites that don't have a dark mode, this is a game changer. You can make your own button that turns any website into dark mode. Just make a bookmark in your toolbar and paste in the javascript code from the next post:

The first item on my to-do list every day is "finish list" It's not a bit*. It genuinely prevents me from jumping the gun. As excited as I get for my day, it has to start with a finished list. *Well, can't it be both?

This is the end of an era! I have faith that the people taking over will treat the blender project with a similar care and dedication. Congratulations, Ton! If your retirement finds you in Boston, USA, I'd love to take you to lunch 😁

With the start of 2026 I will officially step down as chair/CEO and move to a supervisory role. I wish Francesco and the new board members - Sergey, Dalai, Fiona - a lot of wisdom and success. I will enjoy more free time, and look forward playing a humble role in shaping Blender for the next decade.

Are "nothing," "something," and "everything" nouns or pronouns? I feel like "something" and "thing" act as pronouns, but "nothing" and "everything" are pretty concrete, barring set theorists from the discussion (looking at you, Georg Cantor 🤨).

Ended up getting a Fairphone which was altogether too expensive from the US retailer. Not a Linux phone, but de-Googled at least. That does mean that, per this post, the git plugin still doesn't work. I learned about the Git-Sync app to sync without the local git instance and so far it is glitchy.

William Knowles-Kellett@williamknowleskellett.dev

At this point I'm considering a linux phone just because the Obsidian-git plugin doesn't work mobile git implementations, and I want to offload my brain on every device ...also it could be cool could be pretty cool
