The upload schedule for Scare City chapter 3 probably won't be very consistent, mainly because I haven't had much time to work on it. I will upload the first 5 pages on the Halloween, though, because they kind of work as a freaky short comic on their own

People have asked me if Demon Guy's appearance was inspired by various horned characters. When I was designing him I was mainly pulling from various DCAU character designs, Go Nagai's Devilman, and Tim Curry's demon character in Legend. Those are the influences I was conscious of, anyway

I also kind of took Devilman's design in Crybaby and swapped the colors. So while he had a blue torso and black legs, I gave DG a black torso and blue legs.

I am so psyched about that new Dragon Ball Lego set, you have no idea when I was 10 I wrote a letter to Lego asking them to make Dragon Ball Lego sets and then they sent a reply saying it didn't reflect their brand values

also, in their reply, they were like "wow you got an official letter from Lego!! You can frame it or show it to your friends!" and back then I didn't know the word "presumptuous," but that's how I felt about it

I think my favorite DG character design-wise is Eva, but my favorite for her charcter-character is DGL. She's not really a good person, but she's complicated and has had a rough life. I never run out of ideas when writing her

So WB was probably like, "straightforward GL adaptations don't make money. We have to do something grounded and sophisticated to make general audiences interested in the character again." And guess what, it worked.

I'm not saying a more comic-accurate GL show would be bad, or that the studio learned the right lessons from previous GL adaptations, but I think the producers weren't confident that enough hype would be generated to justify the risk

I'm well aware it's not technically "comic accurate," but I really don't see the harm in taking a different approach to the material. I think a more grounded, character-driven Lantern series was a cool idea, and we'll probably get more comic-accurate GL stuff in the next Justice League movie anyway

a more cynical way of looking at it, from the studio's perspective, is that they tried making a comic-accurate GL movie, and it flopped. And they tried making a comic-accurate GL cartoon, but it didn't make money and got cancelled.

Here's my half of an art trade with @slipnum.bsky.social of his characters (from left to right) Dumori, Lucia, and Roumi Schwarz! Slipnum's characters are always fun to draw! I'm glad we got to do another art trade! #arttrade #art #characters #drawing #cartoon #cool

Sure the logo for the remake would have been easier, but I like to torture myself - the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Logo & Font Generator is live now, based on the classic red stone version from the original release!
