Wind&Bones Books

A meditation on death, loss and legacy, Martina Mustafova's The Bulgarian for ‘I Love You’ is an exquisitely nuanced essay that brings together the death of her father from Covid-19, and the birth of her first daughter.

Wind&Bones Books is a small but mighty publishing house. publishing beautifully-crafted fiction, non-fiction, poetry and translation. We publish books with spirit and substance!

Garry MacKenzie’s poem-essay about the Firth of Forth flows implacably forward in time. In its relentless movement, it sweeps along in its path the sedimented layers of history and literature—stories, texts, and fragments that bear witness to the ecological and human histories of Scotland.

It was a busy day for us in Taiwan today too! 😍

This is such big news. This book was a labour of love, built with endless passion on a shoestring. And now our wonderful Scottish translators and writers are sharing the company of Ian Rankin, Val McDermid and many of Scotland’s greats.

I am absolutely thrilled that a story from Tâigael: Stories from Taiwanese&Gaelic, co-edited by @willbuckingham.com and I, and published at @windandbones.com has been included in the Edinburgh City of Literature's Six Minute Reads! Congratulations Elissa Hunter-Dorans and translator Lisa MacDonald.
