๐Ÿ”ž I draw and archive vore art, also a Linux nerd. he/they. If you don't know what vore is, I'd advise against following me. ๐ŸŸฃ https://aryion.com/g4/user/Windrin ๐ŸŸ  https://reddit.com/user/windrinn ๐ŸŸข https://deviantart.com/windrinn

The Vore Archive. Been meaning to do a better write-up for this, especially since the Reddit post got killed by spam filters. If you've been closely following this project, there is precisely no new information here.

i'm pretty sure this wrapper is vibe coded, which makes this the first and only benefit to society that generative ai has brought us.

anyway, work update: it continues to be very busy, everyone is miserable, no one is sure if this company will survive another year because of non-existent management and a customer base that has become very frugal due to funding problems caused by the dipshit administration. i am very tired.

it felt like i was finally starting to claw my way out of burnout a couple months ago, but these past few weeks have just pushed me right back into complete exhaustion. i feel bad saying this, but there's a part of my mind that hopes the company goes under just so i can get a break.

i haven't watched any tv shows in quite a while, but i'm trying to get my mind off work so i started watching chainsmoker cat and the new always sunny. it feels like these shows were meant to be watched together.

i also don't want to keep bugging eka every time something fucks up and i get my own ip banned. they've been very nice in dealing with my bullshit but i would really like to stop bugging them about this.

re: the movie it's hard to look at the movie in isolation because it's constantly referencing the source material, but not doing any of what made the comic great. i think if the comic didn't exist it would be a 6.5-ish/10, but the comparison makes it frustrating to watch. alcock is a great though.

[Comic] Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow I'm not much of a comic reader, but figured it would be fun to read this one prior to the movie. It's really good! The art is also beautiful across the board. I am very confused about the horse. Bummer the movie changed almost everything.

unraid is offline ๐ŸŽ‰ still a bit more work i want to do, but at this point everything is functional, so i'm taking a break. quick thread:

podman feels like what docker is supposed to be, and quadlets are such an elegant way to manage them. I didn't use fedora cockpit much, but that also came in handy for managing firewall stuff. selinux caused very few headaches throughout, which was a nice surprise.

For the vore archive: Unchanged, it just lives under proxmox instead of unraid. I'm actually considering folding this into the next VM, but haven't fully decided.

For general services (nginx, jellyfin, linux isos): I've switched to podman quadlets running on fedora server. It remains to be seen how much ongoing maintenance this requires, but this was the most fun part of moving away from unraid. (1/2)

For storage and network shares: I'm using OpenMediaVault with BTRFS. I have spare drives and might consider trying TrueNAS and ZFS in the future, but for now I like OMV's approach of just doing one basic thing and doing it well.

alright, server stuff is basically sorted. waiting on one last transfer to finish, have to update fstab on one of the VMs, and then i'm totally off of unraid. i have a few days off this week, going to get out of town and just try to mentally recover a bit. finally time to breathe.

Update

Anyway, server rebuild is still moving along. Still need to figure out quadlets. Also considering using ZFS for my main data storage since it's probably going to be a while before I have another opportunity to use it. Work continues to be exhausting. I'm tired.

Also I know most of you just follow me for vore stuff, which is fine. I promise I will post more art when I have the energy and time, I have a bunch of unfinished stuff in the backlog that I'd like to get back to...

I was struggling to find an answer to a podman question yesterday and decided to see if chatgpt could come up with anything. It immediately suggested just running podman as root as a solution (which negates podman's main advantage over docker). Great. Really glad the entire economy hinges on this.

It ended up being some selinux weirdness that I got sorted, but it deeply concerns me that there are millions of people that just take what LLMs say as fact. I was going to say it's going to get people killed, but that's already happened, so...

at this point my plan is to gradually strip back all the stuff i have unraid doing. the vore archive VM is already moved off of it (witchcraft in the screenshot). dockers next. then the data.
