Just finished UNBEATABLE (go play it bring tons of tissues you'll ugly cry) and I wanted to say a thing — (this account is going to have a tighten up a little very soon for Reasons, so there may not really be another window to really say it, so you get to read it while it's still like it is)

So I do it for me. And I do it for you. I have always felt called to make games, because it's a means through which I can have joy and share that joy. There's enough grief. Fuck the griefers, the fash, everything. All they do is feast on the end of that joy. It's not a lot but it's real. It's—

Well, it's silly, but that's how the die rolled, that's how I play the hand I'm dealt. Just wanted to say it out loud. I hope y'all are good. And I hope you keep having fun. And cultivating this joy. Sharing it, together. And I hope I help a little bit. — A.

I don't know why I love cards. I have fought all my life to know, because what my brain gets stuck on is that often it won't _get_ it. Some things can't be put into words. When I shuffle a deck: that is right. That feels right. I was reminded tonight that it's okay that they can't, & okay to try.

But if there's a thing I learned, and a thing I learn every day, is that there is a joy in it, and that joy really truly matters largely because of the people in it. It's not solitaire. And even if it was you would teach it to someone, too.
