@wolf.sbs

I’ll be less obnoxious on this one, I promise.

I really did not expect my mute of the word “kirk” to get as much mileage as it has. Sort of pitiful.

This site is really over if Devin got shitcanned for his archival work exposing @whstancil.bsky.social as a fraud. For people more technical than I: there has to be some relay or whatever of ATProto that archives downstream updates in such a way that it preserves it from any upstream deletion, no?

LMFAO

We literally had the transcrips of the meeting where they planned the holocaust. This is the movie of that event. www.imdb.com/title/tt0266...

Firms that litigate wrongful termination suits typically receive about half of the settlement when court costs are factored in, and usually, the settlements are limited to what can be proven that the client lost as a result of (e.g. lost wages.) It’s a loss for the defendant at best.

i want to apologize again to everyone who may have heeded my advice, did not get wrongfully terminated from their job, and as such did not score a once in a lifetime lawsuit payout. i will spend the day in reflection be better in the future about not discouraging my followers from getting that bag

Punitive damages are usually reserved for cases in which companies have terminated whistleblowers or refused to participate in illegal activities that results in physical human harm.

I’m not saying DON’T DO IT! I’m just making aware that big payouts are a myth akin to welfare queens, so be cautious.

No, he isn’t. That’s not even technically the function of a Prime Minister, but of the President, but even assuming otherwise, there’s a Minister of Defense and chain of command downward that includes support from a _majority_ of “Israelis,” who themselves are IDF reservists.

The bigger point, though, is that there’s a history from the Nakba through until now that you’re ignoring to the effect of genocide denialism when you exceptionalize the Gaza genocide as being “Netanyahu’s.”

He was embroiled in a political catastrophe at the time of 10/7 over a constitutional crisis he triggered anyway, there’s no way he would have had the political capital to unilaterally direct the genocide to begin with.

Did you never see the Apprentice?

I feel like if you're under 40 or so it's hard to appreciate how stupid it is that our transportation secretary was the "republican guy" on an early season of the real world

There’s a parallel between finance capital, financial instruments and AI, in that the purpose of both is to criminally expropriate use-values from people and transform that value into something that is owned by no person or is stored in no place, yet exists everywhere and leaves the RC inculpable

LLMs are basically just sophisticated plagiarism sliced a million ways, similarly to how a sub-prime debt security slices hundreds of people’s debt into fractions and bundles it into one, despite attempted collection of that debt being spread over multiple usuries.

"Trust the science," "healthcare heroes," until they threaten the healthcare industry truly at stake by protecting people from it.

Marvelous example of how you all sound when you bemoan “Trump’s” America.

God@thegodshow.com

Netanyahu’s Israel committed genocide in Gaza. If you can’t admit that, then you have NO BUSINESS being the Democratic candidate in 2028.

I need a moratorium on CS guys talking about theories of cognition until they've taken at least one graduate level course on the subject, ran their thoughts by at least one PhD in neuroscience, and have detoxed from AI chatbots for at least one week beforehand

All of the tariffs imposed up until the Learning Resources SCOTUS ruling were refunded, as was predictable (Congress sets tariffs, not the President). The actual volume of goods impacted this time is way smaller, so this theater must be being put on for something later down the road.

This is so good. Like obviously keep LA -> SD and DEN -> SF, bifurcate DEN -> LAS, and add DC -> CHI and MPLS -> SEA, but otherwise, I will mourn this fantasy forever

Maybe a map with no Las Vegas in New Mexico would work better?

It likely isn’t inaccurate to characterize Holmes as a patsy who took the fall for a lot of the investors who played dumb regarding the fraudulence, though, nor is this characterization of her relationship with Balwani likely that far off of map.

We’re cognizant of the fact that CEOs are not scions that wield ownership of their companies, correct? “This 19-year old dropout’s vision was so compelling, we just had to unwittingly pour billions into this hugely illegal scheme” yeah OK

My timeline has been winnowed so greatly recently that I can actually catch up to where I left off within a few minutes. Maybe I’m saved

Apologies to the two accounts who are now 50% of my feed for the unintentional like spamming.

Breaking: the President of the United States has once again pointed his finger at an unseen point behind us and said “look over there.”

Matt Novak@paleofuture.bsky.social

Everything is just impossibly dumb

Why do people do the respond-then-block thing?? Do they really think it’s easier for people to discover who they’re replying to and then assume the other party blocked, as though anyone would take the time?

OpenAI and Anthropic operate in the red, you utter fucking imbecile.

Will Stancil@whstancil.bsky.social

The reality is this: progressives have an affective hatred of data centers because they don’t like the companies associated with them. Because of that they feel obligated to argue, absurdly, that the extremely substantial tax revenues from data centers are somehow poisoned or undesirable.

Limited liability S corporations don’t in themselves pay income tax, they’re pass-through organizations whose gross revenue gets taxed as income tax on behalf of its shareholders. And there’s no income on capital gains if investors hold appreciating shares instead of sell. Fucking duh.

Are you fucking serious??? Better not be a perm. Most mild-mannered poster on here, what a joke.

_I_ have 1,125 blocks and literally zero points against my account. None whatsoever. Which may just be because no one reads my posts, but I've been around for a bit.

hey it's me, a random person pretending to be concerned about your mental health. let me infer in public that you're not merely voicing an idea i disagree with, but are in fact suffering from a mental health crisis, possibly a psychosis, and should seek help. love and light!
