Not your typical middle aged white guy. Proud to be a woke, liberal atheist. My deeply understood facts are better than your deeply held religious beliefs Neighborism rules, tyranny drools.

Can we put all the world's billionaires on a deserted island with weapons and provisions, tell them the last one standing gets all the others' money, and let them go all Hunger Games on each other?

Maybe, just maybe, if we all started looking after each other despite our differences and religious beliefs, maybe the world would be a much better place? 👇💙🙏 Well done @london.gov.uk 🙌👏👏

I would say one of my biggest successes in life was losing my fear of appearing to be perfect. I'm not afraid to be imperfect, or to forgive myself for being so. In that cycle of imperfection and forgiveness, I've become stronger. I've learned how to be better, and how to avoid mistakes of the past.

President Donald Trump has no sense of, nor any respect for, established boundaries, public or private. That should have been the lesson we took from the Access Hollywood recording. We all should be ashamed and fearful that we've handed such immense power to such an individual.

People just want to live their lives, and these fucking elites with greed and grudges keep launching wars at each other that cause us to die. These elites should not be allowed to rule us any more. Fuck their greed. Fuck their grudges. Make them fight each other instead. I stand with all peoples.

Life's absurdities often surprise people. To keep from being one of those people, remember this: There are things in life that it's important to take seriously; but don't take life seriously.

Let's change some terminology: Instead of "Global warming" let's call it "Global energizing." Instead of "illegal alien" or "undocumented alien", let's call them "unauthorized visitors." Instead of "religion" let's call it "socially reinforced adult make believe."

You call me "woke"? If that means I respect other people's boundaries, that I demand an end to government sponsored cruelty, that I think every person gets to thrive, for whatever that means for them, then I wear that "woke" label as a badge of honor.

Here's what I saw: An ICE agent aggressively approached three car, grabbing at the door handle; the driver panicked and let her foot off the gas; another agent who had planted himself near the front of the car read the slight forward movement as a threat on his life, and...

I find it amusing that those religious conservatives in charge who want Americans to increase the birth rate would have to admit that we humans are animals, since declines in animal populations are usually the result of declines (perceived or real) in resources for rearing offspring.

99.999% of humans want to get along with each other. But those few who pursue power will use the uncommon or unique actions of the 0.0001% to paint in a bad light 100% of whatever group is the target of the power hungry. Reality: two Muslims committed terrible harm, while billions of Muslims didnt

A million Muslims live in New York City. We belong here, as does every other New Yorker. This is vile Islamophobia from the Councilwoman and it has no place in our city.

To understand America, you have to know two things: The first American colonists were religious nutbags that had been kicked out of two European countries. The national anthem is a racist war poem penned by a slave-owner defending lawyer, set to an old English drinking song.

It occurred to me that the right that's ultimately protected by the First Amendment is the right to be wrong. Have the wrong ideas? Wrong speech? Wrong religion? Wrong news stories? The FA drives us to forgive those wrongs, instead of using govt to "correct" them.

Why I hate Trump, without using insults or policy decisions: 1. He has no respect for boundaries, be they personal, political, or societal 2. He refuses to update his knowledge base with new information. (e.g. Low-flow toilets) 3. He lacks credibility (e.g. "I know more," "people are saying")

The problem with political violence isn't the politics, it's the violence. We've created for ourselves a society that celebrates using violence to solve problems, and then steeped ourselves in an ocean of guns that makes that violence easy to perpetuate. Maybe there's a better path to peace.

So much trauma bound up in such an angry, vengeful person. Just how badly did his daddy hurt him growing up?

“What do YOU HAVE? You have NOTHING, you are nothing. You are wickedness, you are jealousy, you are hatred, YOU ARE NOTHING. You can build nothing, produce nothing, create nothing."

I'm atheist, which means I don't buy into the thinking that there are gods, powers, entities, or events that most religious types might label as "supernatural." But there's another aspect: whenever I'm exposed to a religion's history, writings, and teachings, all I see is an expression of humanity.

Sympathy: "Oh, wow, that sucks you broke your leg." Empathy: "I know if I broke my leg, I'd want people to bring me food, run my errands, and help around the house. I should do that." Some people (like Charlie Kirk) seemed to have difficulty differentiating between these concepts.

Words cannot describe the depth of my indifference to Charlie Kirk's death.

America has officially entered its Dark Ages. God help us all—because there's no longer any reason to believe Congress or the courts or media will. We have lost our way to a degree I never thought possible, and I am not going to pretend to have any answers about how we find our way back. We may not.

Charlie Kirk was a Nazi. Stephen Miller is a Nazi. Russell Vought is a Nazi. Curtis Yarvin is a Nazi. Leonard Leo is a Nazi.

Trump: "For years those on the radical left have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis. This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism we're seeing in our country & it must stop right now. My admin will find each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity"

On an individual relationship level, othering falls apart. Think about all the stories recently where the partner or friend or extended b family member of a MAGA got swept up by ICE. They thought their relationship wasn't part of that "other" group.

We progressives do it too. We all have MAGA family or friends that we couldn't imagine getting purged or othered. But the reality is, we're all susceptible to these ideas of political and cultural purity, so long as we can be convinced the "other" is somehow less than human.
