so how's everyone's week going, i'll start: got held at gunpoint yesterday because some walter white wannabe had decided i had stolen money from him, which is cool and not at all a situation i had never even imagined myself in and now i'm afraid to go outside

Have sleepwalked three times (that I know of) in the past four months, which is three times more than in my entire life up until June. Apparently it can be, like, an extremely rare side effect of my current meds (like, rare to a point of contention). I must say, not a fan.

I have an appointment with my psychiatrist in two weeks anyways and I'm obviously going to bring this up, hope he has some ideas. But man. Why is it that every time a new medication seems to kinda work a little it also fucks up some other part of me.

(Then again it might not even be the meds, or not just the meds, my life is in goddamn shambles as of late for reasons beyond my control and I'm struggling in a manner so existential in nature that even my teenage self could not fathom such dramatics.)

I mean I haven't done anything too unnerving that I'm aware of, twice I placed an empty drinking glass next to my pillow, and this last time I went to sleep on the couch next to the dog. I vaguely remember doing these things, but I can't remember why I did them.

But the idea of me fucking around with no one driving the car is fucking terrifying to me, like, my own safety is one thing, sure, but the dog's here too. What if I endanger him in some way. Don't really know how to address this.

love it that whenever i need to cry a little bit i can just watch that part of ikoku nikki ep 8 when asa reads the excerpt about loss in one of makio's books, gets me every fucking time

miyukichi's voice when she says "眠っていたい" pretty much encapsulates the entirety of all the sadness i've ever felt, and doubly so for the past two years

Also, my dog has a very silly tail and he doesn't really use it to communicate when he's awake, but in his dreams he wags that floppy sausage of a thing all over the place and it's the stupidest thing I've ever seen. He's my boy.

how many basically identical photos of a lake he lives next to can a person post on instagram, one man's courageous attempt to find that limit will surely shed light on this pressing issue

It's honestly so jarring to leave my bubble and see people using LLMs for literally everything. I'm so used to people hating them that I genuinely find it difficult to comprehend when someone doesn't. Does not compute.

it's 5:30 am and i'm listening to i will never give up on you (the only track i've ever had or wanted to have from the vld ost) and literally wailing

Why am I running everywhere? Oh, that's just because I'm decrepit and have an inflamed tendon in my thigh that makes my entire leg catch fire when I walk. Why can I run without pain? Guess it's just one of those things! The human body is so weird.

(Tbh I'm still shocked that I'm able to run. I'm not a sports guy, I've never purposefully exercised in my life, but walking the dog for 2-3 hours a day has also made me able to run like 4 km without stopping. Which might not sound like much, but it's 3,5 km more than I used to be able to do lol)

I hate cooking and generally don't really care what food tastes like as long as it's not actively gross, but I've been oven roasting aubergine a lot this summer and whenever I take out a new batch I cry a little bc holy goddamn shit that's good

it's fun how meat eaters tell you that they can't enjoy food if it has no part of a carcass in it, but literally every exceptionally delicious food I've ever had has been meatless

(I recognize this is because I never liked meat that much, to me it just tastes like whatever it's been seasoned with but with an unpleasant texture lol)

the feeling when you're scanning the ground for chanterelles, the dog loses his mind so you look up expecting to see a deer, and you see three moose staring right at you

Going back to school for a bit, and the 100 page report about global megatrends as they pertain to the future of Finland that I had to read to prepare for Monday's orientation day sucked the very marrow out of my bones with how overwhelmingly stupid it was.

(And if anyone's wondering, of course the report was written with AI. No, excuse me, I meant "AI was used to assist in structuring and word choices", which is totally different. And not at all apparent in how exasperatingly repetitive and redundant the entire text was. I hate it here.)

so in the atla universe, is it that hot, big, buff middle aged men are especially drawn to villainy, or does villainy make men hot, big, and buff as they reach their middle years

not to be all sappy and pathetic (who am I fooling, that's the entirety of what and who I am), but honestly that point in time was probably the most artistically and socially meaningful period of my entire life lol

the finnish names on kimiai are killing me (some of them are spelled weirdly in romaji even though the characters say them the normal way but eh, still finnish)

i'm so used to only seeing anglo names in vaguely european shoujo romances that seeing a bishounen called jarmo really punched me in the face

Sorry to get self-pitying for a second, but I'm feeling some kind of way once again so might as well make it other people's problem bc what else is social media for lol

(This was brought to you by my sister asking me if I still ever thought about dating, and me being devastated to learn that a person who should know me better than anyone had, at some point, begun to assume I was alone by choice, because apparently the alternative was unfathomable to her.)

I'm so sad, you guys. I wish I had someone to share a life with. I wish I had someone to touch lovingly. It's super fucking lonely to live like this, and it's all I know. I hate it. Wuf out.

I mean it's not anyone's fault but mine, I haven't had the courage to approach anyone myself bc I'm gross, and I've been too scared to ask anyone if they know someone who might be interested bc I'm too scared they find me so ugly and unpleasant they'd never recommend my company to anyone.

I've mostly come to terms with this, and I keep trying to build a life I don't hate even if I'm the only one living it, but there are these nights when the loneliness becomes so goddamn unbearable I find it difficult to stay alive at all.

So. I am feeling lonely. In the romantic sense. Back in my teens and early 20s I was very sad about it, yes, but some part of me still assumed that romance was in my cards, eventually.

I'm 35, I've never dated anyone, despite a loving partner being literally the only thing I've ever really wanted. At this point I've had to accept that it's just not gonna happen for me, but goddamn if it doesn't hurt like a bitch.

Continuing with heartwarming dog stories, yesterday his butt was super itchy so I took a look, and long story short I have now removed an attached tick off of a dog's actual asshole. So that's something cool to put on my CV, along with that time I pulled a tapeworm out of Ruska's ass.

My dog (pictured below, looking at a squirrel) doesn't know how to play with toys, but tonight he found a ball left behind by someone else at the dog park and lost his goddamn mind. Cue in me spending two hours in the middle of the night scouring the internet for that same exact ball (found it).

I really love Meta's "ad breaks" for everyone who doesn't consent to personalized ads, ain't nothing gonna make me close an app faster than an impending unskippable ad. If your goal was to make people spend less time on your apps, congrats, you have succeeded lmao
