I got a Tenku Note Pro AI while I was out in Japan and it's been a really cute and portable UMPC that is actually kinda powerful for all the stuff I've thrown at it. It can even play FFXIV and compile some of my larger C++ projects pretty well. Can also draw on it pretty alright!

I learned the hard way that newer Intel GPUs kind of suck actually in terms of features(In this case, a meteor-lake GPU). The GPU that this thing has does not support `shaderStorageImageMultisample`, meaning some of the MSAA stuff I've been adding to an emulator will just Not Work on these devices.

Working my way home now. Good trip! Met up with really cool people and bought a lot of merch and had a super memorable time. I got a cute new ultra-portable laptop to play with and dev on now too(Tenku Note Pro AI). Now I just wanna be home to wrap this year up.

Feels like now that anyone can recomp/decomp/mod games with AI and do obscene stuff, we're going to see even more oppressing ways that companies will try to protect their IP. Like an even worse era of DRM and not-owning-your-games since companies are going to want to defend against this stuff.

Finally got my Steam Machine order-reservation so I got a Steam Machine on the way now yay tf am I supposed to do with 115,128 steam points though lmao

I've had several customer-service experience this month that have had indications of LLM usage. Totally random side-tracking. Steam-Support in particular: "Hey my ethernet/wifi/controller all disconnect during games" "I'm here to help about your audio-disconnection issue!" ??

Anyways it looks like I'll be RMAing this Steam Machine because of this issue... kinda unfortunate I just wanted to treat myself for my birthday too 😵‍💫 Maybe I should have just built a little minipc with SteamOS

Found my old Siggraph 2023 loot and found some stuff from "Nyraid". Basically a GPU-storage solution. Lets you store files within lots of VRAM and accelerated certain operations upon them like mass real-time collaboration and encryption/decryption and erasure-coding and stuff A cool idea at the time
