I heard a top AI CEO saying that all the boring jobs will be taken by AI and we'll have lots of free time to pursue our interests. Substitute 'automation' for AI and that's exactly what we were told in the 1970s. Since then, average work hours have gone up as have commute times. Do the math.

Given that AI can generate very realistic images for our screens, will we ever again be able to trust imagery on a screen? In a court of law, will CCTV footage be trusted? Perhaps we should require AI generated images and videos to have a disclaimer on them.

As a sculptor, I would love this image even if I wasn't drawn to the wonder of flight. By the way, this photo of Japanese cranes engaged in their mating dance predates AI. It's for real.

I'm new to this, so I hope I don't breach a code of ethics. As you may guess, I'm very interested in anything that flies, from pterosaurs to zeppelins. I'm a firm believer in science and proud to call myself a Liberal, though I realise that in some countries that's spelled as devil-worshipper.
