Update from the Ministry of Environment Iraq regarding clean fuels, modern technologies and how they will shape environmental visions towards 2030. Iraq ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ถ Ireland ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช Oman ๐Ÿ‡ด๐Ÿ‡ฒ partnership.

American University Kurdistan, Duhok Kurdistan Iraq Mohamad and yours truly attended the K12 and Above conference. Educators from near and far came together to listen and learn from each other. I even sat myself down at a session about AI in education! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‘

For what its worth I did take this questionnaire away with me. Plenty of food for thought. #AIinEducation

Actually delivered this key note presentation yesterday but have been so busy just getting a chance to share now. A discussion about economic justice and innovation through the prism of Supply Chain management here in Kurdistan and Iraq. Another step forward...

Visited the Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources Kurdistan Regional Government Iraq today. Discussed many subjects but a focus on a couple of Ireland solutions to water protection issues that need specific attention. Very interesting conversation. To be continued.

British King birthday celebration at the Rotana hotel here in Erbil Kurdistan Iraq. Really interesting and honest assessment of the last year here in Iraq and Kurdistan and the geopolitical situation. But met some great friends tonight. Onwards and upwards ๐Ÿ™Œ

Attended the Hospex exhibition today here in Erbil Kurdistan Iraq. Hospitality and tourism development is at the forefront, a sector sorely neglected but that is going to change. Our partner, Xanzada Xatun, have developed a great connection with Edinburgh Connect. ๐Ÿ‘ #emergencylogisticsteam

I would like to remember Hisham who was murdered by the Houthi back in 2023. He was the director of security for the organisation. That's the nuance of the humanitarian world, one day one belligerent is threatening your life and the next its another www.savethechildren.net/news/save-ch...

Sanaa Yemen 2017. The morning after the night before... The Saudis had carried out overnight bombing throughout Houthi controlled Yemen. I was there. It was a terrifying experience. In all the wars I've lived through this was one of the most dangerous. For context...

Busy return to Erbil. Hand delivered some certificates to the supply chain team in Eagle Post. Dedicated and eager to learn international standards in our sector, it was a joy to deliver the quality management training and get to know this team. โค๏ธ

Ok ya filthy animals, how about this?! Erbil Kurdistan Iraq ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ถ โ™ฅ๏ธ

Jaysus ye are a hard audience folks! I think this is a stunning shot! But what do I know ๐Ÿค” ๐Ÿ˜‰ #spรฉirghorm

Erbil Kurdistan Iraq folks. โค๏ธ

Erbil Kurdistan Iraq. Huge change in the weather here. In the space of a week temperatures have reduced by 10 degrees and thunderstorms abound. First rain in months so very much needed ๐ŸŒฉโ›ˆ๏ธ๐Ÿ™

Erbil Kurdistan Iraq folks. If you see that large dark area that's one of the locations that the USA forces were based. This is the first time since I arrived here in March 2014 that they haven't been there. Remember why they were there. ISIS invaded and US forces returned to fight them.

Baghdad international airport Iraq ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ถ Final leg of my flying odyssey is coming up. Decided to treat myself to these beauties, one cheese and one minced meat. Very fresh, very tasty. Next stop, Erbil.

Yours truly, Dubai UAE ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ช One night to go then its back to Iraq ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ถ

Something I said back in September 2015 regarding Syrian refugees... They just want to go home. September 2026, 3.5 million Syrian people have. ๐Ÿ™

True Agency - EN/ES - โญ@newsrealtime.bsky.social

๐Ÿ“ข Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa announced that 3.5 million refugees and internally displaced persons have returned in a safe and decent way, stating that Syria has turned from a crisis into an opportunity.

Good evening from Dubai UAE ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ช folks. Over the last 3 days I've travelled from Tinahely to Dublin, onto Istanbul and then Amman Jordan ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ด to where I am tonight, Dubai. The worst thing that's happened so far is this can of iced tea getting stuck in the vending machine ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿคž

And its goodbye Amman Jordan ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ด, after a flying visit. Onwards to Dubai UAE ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ช folks.

'I'm on the road again ๐ŸŽต...' Its goodbye Dublin Ireland ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช, onwards to Amman Jordan ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ด for a very short visit then Dubai UAE ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ช awaits. Might tell you all about it someday but suffice to say that we're trying to put together some new humanitarian system supports. ๐Ÿ™

Let the magic happen โœจ๏ธ Sliced up these bad boys, sprinkled some rock salt, creole seasoning, bit of cheese on half of them and drizzle of olive ๐Ÿซ’ oil .... Pretty tasty actually, if I do say so myself ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜

When I saw these at the Farm Shop here in lovely Tinahely Wicklow Ireland ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช I thought they were either A) plastic fruit of some kind Or B) unusual peppers ๐ŸŒถ But it was neither. Any guess what they are? ๐Ÿค” Had to buy them. ๐Ÿ˜

Tinahely Wicklow Ireland ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช Four generations in this photo. Popped into the Farm Shop for brunch with the mammy, my eldest son and my grandson ๐Ÿ’™

#PhDSky Doing some research for the aul PhD, have to get back in my stride, and listening to this audiobook, nudge theory. Very interesting. I actually 'get' this! ๐Ÿ˜ But need some inspiration/ideas about Gatekeeper theory, any podcasts or audiobooks that I can listen to on my flight tomorrow ๐Ÿค”

One of my very first tweets from way back in August 2014, was new to social media I was in Kurdistan Iraq, we were in the middle of the ISIS maelstrom, absolute chaos, and yet the two hashtags I used were for Ireland and Gaza. Can't quite recall what specifically was happening in Gaza back then ๐Ÿค”

Saw my boys for the last time until December when I return home to lovely Ireland ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช Beginning my return odyssey to Mesopotamia in a couple of days, via Amman Jordan ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ด, Dubai UAE ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ช then Baghdad Iraq ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ถ before I finally arrive back to Erbil Kurdistan Iraq. #peace ๐Ÿ•Š

Aden Yemen 2017. With all the recent events taking place in Yemen I was brought back to my few months there during the cholera epidemic on 2017. I learned so much while I was there. A fascinating yet deeply broken country. #peace ๐Ÿ•Š๐Ÿ™

Dublin Ireland ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช My trip to the big smoke was very busy. Tried to get to see some of my old stomping grounds. Going on a little adventure โœจ๏ธ with my boys over the weekend, so looking forward to that ๐Ÿ’š

Embassy of the Republic of Iraq ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ถ in Dublin Ireland ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช Paid a visit to the Iraqi embassy today and had a very open and informative discussion with the Iraqi Chargรฉ d'affaires Mushtaq Al Sultani. Both of us are working hard to develop trade links between both countries. Challenging times..

After a week of the flu yours truly is back on track. Went for my socially distanced walk along the river Derry at Railway Walk, Tinahely Wicklow Ireland ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช The driest summer ever in Ireland has resulted in the river being a lot less full than normal.

For something completely different... Johnny the fox! We've got visitors here in the metropolis that is Tinahely Wicklow Ireland ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช ๐Ÿ˜€

Railway Walk, Tinahely Wicklow Ireland ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช I've an awful dose the last few days. Trying to keep business and PhD stuff ticking over but needed to get out and clear my head, if possible, so where else to go but here. The river Derry. ๐Ÿค’

Railway Walk, Tinahely Wicklow Ireland ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช Feeling a bit under the weather the last couple of days. Transitioning from circa 50 degrees Celsius last week in Erbil to 15 degrees here in Wicklow is bound to have an effect. Decided to get out and try to clear my lungs ๐Ÿซ...

'I'm on the road again ๐ŸŽต... ' All checked in and waiting for the big bird to load up and take me to Istanbul first and then home. Dublin Ireland ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช ๐Ÿฅน It's been a long, eventful but ultimately productive time, less of those drones from now on, ta very much. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Selfie time at Komar University yesterday. This was the reason why I travelled to lovely Sulimani on Sunday. Delivered the presentation: Introduction to Supply Chain Management, Innovation and Problem Solving in the 21st Century. 4th time over the last few weeks. โค๏ธ
