as an educator and artist, i get to experience the variety of ways ai is detrimental and promotes cognitive offloading, leading not only to skill decline but also just straight-up lack of developing those skills in the first place.

i teach academic and research writing at the college-level & completely disallow it at any stage of the process. As much as people want to call it just a "tool". it gets used according to the easiest application. Which is generate a bulk of text w/o considering the why or how.
