Slopping tools for games is no longer hard with current AI models, they can fully reverse engineer the game, extract any data, manipulate memory of the running game (in this case to take high quality world screenshots). This is a progress tracker for Order of the Sinking Star (play it!)

New Source2 Viewer release featuring: - GPU driven rendering and meshlet culling - Support for modern Source 2 lights like omni2 and barn - Live rendered thumbnail view - Visibility (VVIS) cluster view - AnimGraph2 animation playback s2v.app#changelog

Inventory management in Arc Raiders is severely lacking. Since everything outside of the match in this game is managed with HTTP calls, it definitely would be possible to make a third-party app for managing it. Automatic crafting/buying, loadouts, etc…

I've tried using the 'for you' feed, and pressed a bunch show less like this, but the feed is still completely bad showing zero content I would have any interest in.

We've been slowly refactoring the S2V renderer to be self contained and now it's reached a point where it lives a separate package (and published to nuget). This opens the road to use the renderer for things like automating screenshots or implementing other viewers on top.

It only depends on opengl bindings being available, and should work on any platform. Our shader validator in CI now runs on Linux with mesa llvmpipe drivers.

modern multiplayer games start sucking as soon as people start going for metas which ruins any fun. for example everyone now runs trigger nades in arc raiders, which can kill an entire squad in less than a second. devs already confirmed a nerf is coming, but they took their sweet time

SteamDB has a new experimental filter on the sales page. Highlight rarer new historical lows where either: - Previous low was 1.5+ years ago, OR - 50%+ price drop from previous low

We've been working on making the loading and rendering threaded in Source 2 Viewer, as well as freshened up theme. It's a surprising amount of refactoring to make OpenGL load and render in a thread and sync up with UI controls. And styling winforms is really hell on earth.

It's rather ironic that I haven't been getting ads on twitch for months (because no one buys ads here), and now all of a sudden they keep repeating an ad for twitch turbo promoting ad free viewing.

You can now browse anyone's owned games or wishlist on steamdb with all the filters. It was partially possible before by specifying the accountid in the url, but now it's more obvious, and you can get to it from the calculator.

I'm glad dhh is publicly talking about the overall complexity of modern development. steamdb deploys from a git commit in under 2 seconds, it's really invaluable.

You should have a performance bar always available in production which has timings and logs all the individual queries. This helps you find bottlenecks that need attention just while you're using the site.

Battlefield 6 is a lot of fun, shotgun is op as hell, and you can do a lot of tomfoolery with respawn beacons. The empire state map feels like a deathmatch map though, it's way too small.
