Yet Another Canal Adventure

After a really nice afternoon and evening catching up with @seanmcp.bsky.social and seeing the new narrowboat, it's back onboard and the fire is warming us up nicely 😀

We've found a project boat, who's up for a challenge? 🤣

Spent an hour or two getting this thing together... 😀 (it is on camera as well so it did happen 🤣)

www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZ9J... Food! Dinner preparation and a finger buffet on the move. The Tillerman's Lunch is very much consumed... #ukcanals

Doors are on!

Today's project... currently have a coca-cola break (nondiet)

As a boater, you are never too far from nature. I'm trying not to be too paranoid about this but I seem to be being stalked by herons... (this picture appeared in the kitchen at work) 🤭

Can anyone guess what we are going to be doing today?

First Aid course this afternoon, trying to find lots of things not to do this morning 🙃

All of the press should boycott the white house and refuse to publish anything.

RIP Stephanie Cole 😢

Just opened the damaged parcel that I received yesterday, which was supposed to be delivered last Saturday. Yep, just as I thought... that didn't survive in transit. Emails sent to company that dispatched it.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zbv... #ukcanals Finally, a new vlog! The start of our journey along the North Oxford Canal 😀

That was a really good evening at the Proms in the Park Luton. The towns Youth really showed their talent this evening and they were amazing!

I suppose I had better take him home later 😘

The info mentioned we could bring a bottle and some cans in with us. We didn't read the "But not glass bottles", and that is how we are now drinking half pints of prosecco from event plastic beakers 🤣

Preparing for what hopefully won't be a tooo wet Proms in the park.

Amongst other things, I have been editing vligs this weekend, more editing time is of course required. I'm slowly working some new things out, including removing the whistling noise (don't ask). However, I also seem to have set the mic's receiver to a weird setting, more editing required!

We are actually enjoying the new series of Grand Tour, it's not the same three blokes doing their thing. It's a new trio who each have a fresh outlook and fresh excitement for what they are doing. Similar format, but through fresh eyes.

Raising the tax allowance to £15k would give most of us about £500 extra a year in our pockets. However, it would cost the government up to £21b a year in lost taxes. That's a huge chunk of money, I suppose that'll be out of the NHS and Education budgets then. Who needs the NHS or education?

The Gentleman and now ST:SNW. Thursday comedy night.

Look at that happy smiley face, that was before we owned a boat 🤣

We have been to the boat! Which means we now have parts of the boat all over the house as we either fix, varnish or workout how they fell off in the first place. 🤔

It's been a very frustrating week. Thankfully, tomorrow is Friday.

RIP Tim Curry and of course RIP Dr. Frank-N-Furter. 💔

RIP Dolly 😢 An amazing woman and artist. We'll always love you ❤️

The latest episode of Star Trek Strange New Worlds was very funny 😁

Neighbours are having a house extension. It's the demolition stage before the foundations are dug... no vlog editing or voiceovers for me today.

Stuff at the boat that's needed at home, a leaky sink at a parents, and waiting for an Amazon delivery. Nice relaxing Sunday 🙄

Massive cloud of black smoke rising from an industrial building on fire a few streets away. Not a good start to the weekend for anyone involved 😕

Eclipse and meteor showers tonight, and tomorrow a bin takes a seat as an MP in Clacton. What a perfect world we live in. 😃

Message from Paul: I recently used GJW Direct for boat insurance and they gave me a special offer to share with my friends. If you buy a policy through them, you can get a £40 voucher if you spend over £150. I’ll also get a £40 voucher, so it’s a win-win! mention-me.com/m/wa/gb0aept...

Palace of Westminster in the first photo and Westminster Abbey in the second 😇

Nice view this evening 😇

Brown sauce or Red sauce? Ciabatta bread with bacon, cheese and onion... smothered i the sauce of your liking 👍 😏

That's about as happy as I can muster, we got to the pub!

The face of a man who after travelling for hours is wondering if there will be anywhere to moor so we can walk to the pub.

That's a new IPA tried... Alpaca Lypse session IPA

Gulls on watch...

In the pub, pint served and phone in hand 😉 Paul in relaxed mode 😎

Well, as you know we aren't ones to name drop but ... on today's travels we passed Steve & Andy's boat in the queue for the locks, passed nb Spudley and even cruised past the Burrito Boat (yes Liam himself) 😀 We even had a very nice lady saying it was nice to see us!

"We'll aim for the Old Oak Wood visitor moorings" and walk into Brinklow and have a drink. Which is how 8 hours later we are moored not too far from Aldermans Green. 🙄😇

Now that parts of the UK are officially in drought, and we Brits do like to reminisce about 1976... Who are you showering or bathing with? 🛁 (it's all about saving water)

Buck Moon, as seen from the narrowboat this evening...
