According to The Guardian, Democrats are experiencing better health outcomes because they don't share Republicans' ignorant distrust of medicine. This is a phenomenon known as Darwinism.

MacFarlane: $250 — who’d be carrying around that kind of bill in their wallet to begin with? It seems ornate. It seems like something royalty would carry, but at the same time, it’d be barely enough to cover the grocery bill for a family of four or five each week because prices are so high.

The Republican controlled Congress is complaining that the Democrats have shut down the government because they won't support a seven week continuing resolution; but meanwhile, the Republicans are putting zero effort into finalizing an actual budget to vote on.

It wouldn’t be hard to protect Medicaid and funding to rural hospitals and still reduce our nation’s ballooning debt and deficit. The Rs would just have to make the wealthy and corporations pay slightly more in taxes. (PS Rs are never serious about the debt and deficit when they are in power).

If the MAGA want to return to the good ole days of the 1950’s, they may want to take a look at the tax rates. Could it be we had good governance and no national deficit because the wealthiest Americans were paying more taxes?

It’s January, which means state legislative sessions are beginning so it’s time to advocate! Set up alerts about key proposals on the issues you care about. Call your state reps to share your opinions and get friends to do so as well. State officials take notice when even a dozen people speak up!

As 2025 bears down on us like a malodorous, orange storm cloud, remember to act locally. Commit to protecting and improving the communities where you live. Contact local officials to advocate for housing, schools, libraries, and health care. Make your hometown look like the America you want.

There is a certain satisfaction in seeing MAGA voters start to experience regrets but rather than mocking them, it is in our best long term interests to welcome these cult refugees back to join the ‘pro-people and lovers of democracy’ community
