Scotland is literally a powerhouse, producing nearly half the UK's renewable energy and sending £billions of our power to the south of England. Yet we pay the highest energy bills in Europe. It could have been different. It still could be. #IndependenceIsNormal

Independence isn’t some abstract ideal—it’s the tool we need to tackle real issues like the NHS, economy, and energy bills. It’s not independence OR public services—it’s independence FOR public services. Let’s connect the dots between what matters now and how we gain the power to change it.

Yes, brilliant. Let's all gaze at our navel for a while while the far right continues its ascent to power in a parliament we can't control, but which will control us. What possible better use of our time could there be? #IndependenceIsNow

Alba's Kenny MacAskill has called for a public inquiry into the handling of misconduct claims against Alex Salmond. The comments follow a @heraldscotland.bsky.social interview in which the ex-Justice Secretary said he would "never forgive" Nicola Sturgeon. www.heraldscotland.com/news/2529266...

Across Scotland, the conversation has already begun — not in parliaments, but in homes, communities, and hearts. This isn’t about asking for permission. It’s about recognising that we’re ready — and we’ve already started moving. #ItsTime #BelieveInScotland #ScottishIndependence

"...got given BACK..." Fixed that right up for you Jamie. Yer welcome.

I am a convinced devolutionist. However, we need more transparency around how the Scottish Government spends its grant from the UK Government. Last year, the SNP got given the largest devolution settlement in history and I want the Highlands to see our fair share of it!

Here’s an illustration of what the different weighting approaches do to the % #indyref2 Yes vote. On average using 2014 weighting suppresses Yes by 4pts. Not sure why Norstat has recently started showing a Yes lead, but that skews things a little.

I hope that these materials I'm producing are helping to spread the positive word about Scottish independence. It would help even more if you could share this stuff on Facebook, Instagram and even (gulp) X if you're still using it. indyposterboy.scot/england-alwa...

It’s so encouraging to see ministers placing independence at the heart of the conversation — not just as a constitutional goal, but as the key to a fairer Scotland. When those with reach speak clearly, it lifts the whole movement. This is how we build momentum — together. #IndependenceIsNormal

I spoke to @scotnational.bsky.social about Scotland's fairer approach to social security, my frustration over the inadequacies of the Union & how we could do so much more with the full powers of independence. This should be at the heart of every debate about Scotland’s future.

Our approach to social security based on "dignity, fairness and respect" is a “shining example” of how the country could choose a different path through independence, a minister has said. “If we had our independence, we could be doing that on a much bigger scale.” More of this from ScotGov, please

The question for an independent Scotland isn’t whether this kind of statement is nonsense. It is. But why do so many men believe it? If we don’t create a society where everyone feels seen, supported, and part of the future, someone else will offer them grievance instead. It's time to be different

In this specific way, the UK functions as an authoritarian state. What else do you call a system where a government says: “You can vote for your party — but we’ll veto parts of its manifesto.” “You can have democracy — just not the kind that lets you leave.” #AuthoritarianUK

Iceland cut working hours — and guess what? No loss in pay. No drop in productivity. Just happier, healthier lives. Now over 80% of workers have shorter hours or the right to request them. Imagine what Scotland could do with the powers of independence and a wellbeing economy.

Scotland’s Parliament could be shut down by a simple majority in Westminster seeking 'Reform' — even if every Scottish MP opposed it. That’s not how a real democracy works. Independence means securing our right to decide—now and always.

Why couldn't the Scottish Government save Grangemouth? Energy is reserved to Westminster. Why can't Scotland welcome more care workers from overseas? Immigration is reserved to Westminster. Why can't the Scottish Government tackle drug addiction better? Drug laws are reserved to Westminster.

I really like this image being shared by a number of accounts! A brilliant visual representation of our current situation in this union. Sad reality for us. We absolutely need Scottish independence to change this!!! I don’t know who made this image to give credit. They did a good job!

So close. You stepped right up to the line, John. Just one more wee step. The final sentence is "That's what the Scottish Government COULD deliver with the full powers of an independent country."

John Swinney@johnswinney.bsky.social

The UK Labour government’s Spending Review proves it yet again: To Westminster, Scotland is an afterthought. Here’s why 👇

Scotland’s energy can do more than power homes—it can power hospitals, schools, childcare... And hope. An independent Scotland could build a wealth fund that invests in people, not profit. Let’s turn our abundant renewable energy into real change. #ImagineScotland #RenewableFuture

Imagine a Scotland where energy is clean, public, and almost free. We already generate more than we use—enough to power our future. It's first spark of a new Scotland—powered by what’s already ours. #ImagineScotland #YesBenWyvis

"If Westminster rule delivers terrible outcomes under the Tories, no discernible philosophy or change under Labour, and the prospect of Farage as Prime Minister, what exactly is the case for Scotland remaining part of the UK?" Jolyon Maugham KC, Founder and Director, Good Law Project

Which raises the question that should be asked by every media outlet: "What is the lawful, democratic path for a nation to leave the UK union?"

The argument about whether #Indyref2 polls should be weighted by 2014 vote or not won't really matter for much longer. As time marches on, even the 2014-weighted polls are trending towards a majority Yes. We'll only be debating the scale of the Yes lead. These are polls over the past 12 months.

IMAGINE… a Scotland where the NHS is protected forever. Where governments reflect our values. Where healthcare stays public—by law. This isn’t wishful thinking. It’s a future we can build. A public NHS written into the constitution. A service for people, not profit. #ImagineScotland

With the lastest polling showing support for Welsh Independence at 41%, that suggests that almost everybody who feels strongly Welsh wants it to be an independent country. Tick Tock

YouGov@yougov.co.uk

How strong is regional identity in Britain? North Easterners are as strongly attached to their region as Welsh people are to Wales Scotland: 61% have very strong attachment Wales: 49% North East: 48% London: 38% North West: 35% Yorkshire: 34% South West: 32% yougov.co.uk/society/arti...

EFTA has its place—but it’s not our destination. Scotland belongs in the EU, shaping decisions, not just following them. Let’s build direct partnerships, not temporary arrangements. We’re ready to take our seat at the table. #ScottishIndependence #ImagineScotland #EUReady

Should Scotland join the EFTA before the EU? No. Scotland should bite the bullet and ignore this distraction. EU membership is the only route back to the centre of Europe that makes sense for us. My latest substack explains why I believe this 👇 open.substack.com/pub/yesinpic...

Imagine a country built on care, not profit. Where wellbeing—not wealth—is how we measure success. That’s what independence makes possible. A wellbeing economy where people thrive and Scotland flourishes. #ImagineScotland #WellbeingEconomy #YesBenWyvis

The UK might settle for a plumber. Scotland needs an architect—with a new blueprint. Independence lets us design a society rooted in compassion, fairness, and wellbeing. Not just a fix. A future. #ImagineScotland #WellbeingEconomy #YesBenWyvis

Curtice on Starmer: a plumber repairing broken pipes but “the public wants an architect with the vision to build a new building rather than fixing the old.” The exact rationale for Scottish Independence. We need a new building built to a specification that meets Scotland’s needs and ambitions.

Dear @theSNP @theSNPMedia @AlbaParty @IndyScotParty @scottishgreens The lesson you (& your members) really need to learn & put into practice with every post is: If you do a "UKBad" post, you must ALWAYS state Why #ScottishIndependence will be different & will benefit Scotland! Explain to people!

Imagine independence with a border as seamless as Ireland’s—smart, open, invisible. Trade flows. Families stay connected. This isn’t theory. It works every day in Ireland. Sovereignty isn't about division. #ImagineScotland #OpenBorders #YesBenWyvis
