OH NO

Oh NOW people want to talk about The Factory.

ypsilanti11.comFINAL: Ohio 24, EMU 20EMU's go-ahead lead in the fourth quarter immediately slipped away with a 100-yard kick return.

EMU's fourth-quarter lead at Ohio immediately vanished with a 100-yard return. EMU drove back downfield to put itself in scoring range, but couldn't complete the job at the end. After a 3-0 start, EMU falls to 3-2 in MAC play. www.ypsilanti11.com/p/emu-ohio-f...

Accidentally sent out the email with the final score being off by one point lol. Sorry. I felt really bad at first (still do tbh) but was able to laugh at myself after I remember that the other day Omaha World-Herald accidentally posted a "test" article and the text said "ASALKDJFLAKFLAHFD"

The difference is I didn't get paid to mess up by much less.

Some postgame quotes from CC provided by EMU: "I'm genuinely super proud of our football team, program, coaches, the players. That's real. I know you're not supposed to be (after a loss), but that's not it. ... "They not only fought to the very end, but they believed. That's what makes it so hard.

Trying something new: EMU football recap will be in your inbox BRIGHT AND EARLY TOMORROW MORNING. Gonna try and see what the response to publishing my game recaps in the mornings looks like vs. publishing these things the same night. I get a sense that most readers are busy Saturdays.

[On holding Ohio to 90 rush yards.] "A really good plan by our staff, and our guys executing. I now we popped a couple gaps and assignments and they got some runs. They're a good football team and know who they are and have a good system.

"But our guys, we wanted to play really smart, really tough, and really disciplined, and for the most part I think we did."

The Ypsilanti Eleven@ypsilanti11.com

"Now we'll really get to coach him off of game tape. ... We're gonna take a couple days here since we've gone since, I think, July 29th, straight; try to let our bodies rest a little bit and heal. ...

"I'd be real surprised if this football team didn't come out with a renewed urgency and intensity and passion to play this game at even a higher level."

The Ypsilanti Eleven@ypsilanti11.com

[On Brogan McCaughey's first start] "I'm super proud of him. He's got quite a story. When he talks about his college football and college experience, we're so glad that he's here. He was really taking 2nd and 3rd team reps. When Noah (Kim) went down, he and Jace (Stuckey) got to play at the end ...

"of the Toledo game and Brogan just emerged as the guy who was just going to take the reins for this game and I'm really proud of him. I thought he did a really good job against a good football team; taking our team and battling on the ground and in the air. ...

The Ypsilanti Eleven@ypsilanti11.com

"And I haven't seen the iPad..., it sounds like they bounced it to the field on the kickoff return. We knew he was a good returner. Had a plan for trying to keep it away from him and had to get away from that, so it was a huge play for them. ...

"But, again, our guys, I mean, shoulders didn't slouch, heads didn't go down. We knew we were going to come back and go down the field and win the game, and couldn't do it with a field goal, knew we had to score a TD. We just knew we were going to do it, so it really hurts that we fell short."

The Ypsilanti Eleven@ypsilanti11.com

"My thoughts are: I'm super proud (of them)... and then I'm sick. I'm sick that they didn't get to have the result that we just all knew was going to happen. It's harder when you actually believe.

[On the final 4 min. sequences] "We didn't want to start w/ the ball on the -1 but it was a, just an awesome, coming down to the end, gotta-have-this drive. Our guys executed, we did it on the ground and in the air, and finished it off, and we certainly weren't celebrating early, ...
