like those resources are so powerful that they end up in two extremes youre either current patch aba who sucks cause getting and using her resource is so hard, or youre previous patch aba where as long as youre good enough at it you can basically be the best character in the game for 80% of the-

match. Thats kinda how i feel fighting robo rn

Interchangeably with tension to make it so the character is essentially playing at a level other characters only get to when they have tension the entire time due to always having either tension or their own resource? how do you make it so they cant just use tension to recover all their resource-

anyways? Or at least how do you balance that into being a choice and not s given? can you make a character with a meaningful powerful resource that interacts in a relatively balanced way with tension? bweh i look at GL with security gauge, Robo with electric, Aba with jealousy and i just feel-

okay time for my positive thoughts on the beta game is fun as hell its very much a movement fighting game, at least it felt that way to me defending is easy (a bit too easy like i said near the end of the other thread), it wants you to hit people on neutral rather than trying to open them up-

into a wallbreak or to use super earlier for oki, i enjoy it a LOOOOOOT more, knowhere my beloved...... so despite there being stages i kind of hate for helping with the slop that are the 90%+ damage combos in this game, i think its at least unique and gives an extra layer to this game that-

i can appreciate so yeah. my thoughts on the game are positive overall, id say, even if theres some rough things in there i can see myself playing this game a lot, especially if they can polish the online experience and performance :3

bit of a negative way but thats why i like the fact that theres multiple different stages some of them have NO stage transitions, meaning theyre damageslop comboslop TODslop stages where the stakes are much higher, any hit means so much more and then some stages will have like one screen-

transition before the corner which feels the least extreme and most standard, and my favorites are the stages that just kind of dont have a corner at all, the ones that loop theyre much lower stakes for every individual hit, you dont get to slump and do ultra long high damage combos, youre forced-

movement overall feels so unique and different to each other, and thats great controlling danger and starlord feels extremely different in how they move, both having really nice things to each i think this really emphasises what i said ab this being a movement game, it feels like the most-

distinct aspect for every character, and thats very awesome honestly. fighting diff chars completely changes how you want to get screen space cause of the movement changes another unique thing ab this game that i really enjoy are how stages change how you play the corner means a LOT. to me in a-

use beam assist to cover ground, jump and shoot beam to also cover air while activating bombs, they get hit by a beam, the bombs activate and let me convert, if they find an angle to approach, they have to guess a little on my vertical assist so they dont get anti aired its honestly very fun-

zoning that makes up a little for me not enjoying running offense as much due to the lack of mix back to the movement thing, i think its REALLY well done how unique every char feels in movement. for as simple and standard as they feel with most specials, the unique button and just character-

doing so to you, zoning them out and such, which means movement is one of the most important aspects of your character and in the game in general, which i enjoy, a lot being in the air is strong, but you can prevent someone from being there due to the jumpsquat (which tbh i would rather be faster)-

throwing out beam assists and vertical assists is strong to claim screen space, but the opp can fight by hitting your assists its a very fun neutral loop where both players are just kinda fighting for space the entire time i think especially as a zoner player (danger :3) its so so fun set bomb,-

on offense. its much easier to land a hit on neutral and convert by taking them to the wall than to hit a throw or--- anything on offense really when the game barely has mix. the only real threat i felt on offense was not being sure when to press and try to challenge it, frametraps do kind of kill-

you hard. but besides that defending is super easy in this game you get your hits on neutral, you kinda fight for space, use assists to cover screen space, depending on what char you are youre either trying to push them back into the corner by just taking space, or youre trying to keep them from-

tokon beta thoughts! im not gonna talk about performance issues here since lowkey everyone already knows its ass i WILL talk ab netcode actually and let me start with this one so i can get some negatives outta the way already chat the netcode kinda sucks a little. its nothing terrible like uni-

why do i need anticheat software, why do i need to watch a whole fucking sony productions animation, unskippable, why the fuck do i need a PSN account to play the game sony being here is such an issue and its really unfortunate alright, i think ill separate negative thoughts and positive thoughts

into two diff threads this thread was for negatives

the game again, this one will be less of a problem, i expect at higher levels of play no one uses the standard combos anymore cause its true, theyre lower reward, much lower, but right now it sucks ass and to me is extremely unecessary and also can we give this game more mix its so boring that-

theres just kind of none rn i managed to find a high low by using dangers lunge + lockdown assist cause it lets her airdash after but like sheesh, this game does everything it can to prevent mix and its so bad and lastly its sony its fucking sony why do i need playstation overlay,

some combos and the normals re buttons just feel the fucking same :sob: and every character has the same 5l 5m 2h jc jlml jc jmhh assist 5h jc jlmh 214x combo, i hate it, its so overkill i get its cause its a tag fighter, it wants to give characters a standard combo so its easy to learn multiple-

but in a game where characters are this simple already, in a game with deadass just autocombos, why the fuck do we need MORE to make characters easy to learn, its so overkill for the sake of making the game easy to learn and compromises character identity and just the visual aspect of watching-

"wow cool routing wow cool combo omg thats awesome i love this combo for how cool it is" it instead makes me disgusted and wish i was playing something else. this is probably the biggest threat to me playing this game long term its not something i can get used to, its not something i can work-

around, its just a shitty (imo) part of this game that i wish i could just not interact with but i think thats kind of impossible in a game without burst and where thats just an aspect of combos ig probably gonna be less of an issue as i learn more ab the game but its kinda boring how standard-

fun regardless of how sloppy it was, but for long term--- bwehhh so overall this game has slightly worse conn than strive on wired and awful conn on wi-fi, which is extremely disappointing when most recent arcsys games have really good netcode well, except for the disconnects and server issues-

but like when it comes to actually playing online it usually feels great in granblue and strive, tokon not as much tbh alright, besides connection, another negative i have is the damage < very known for hating high damage person im sorry seeing TODs and 90% combos does not in fact make me think-

netcode is when playing cross country, but its still not--- ideal with wired oomfs the connection from brazil to east coast was decent enough, still worse than im getting in strive, but playable ig, but oh god this game is NOT wi-fi friendly for wi-fi it seems like this game has some very weird-

one sided rollback where one person gets like 8 whole ass frames while the other somehow gets less i have no fucking clue how this works but it makes playing against wi-fi kind of awful it was fine for this beta cause lowkey neither of us had no fucking clue what we were doing so it was v much-
