One of the many reasons I could never run for office is that somebody would apparently feel the need to ask me about trans kids in sports. And I would have to tell them I don’t think cis kids should play sports either.

ttrpg’s are cool because it’s like having an ultra committed and skillful improv crew but you would never once have to do a performance or have an audience or be a part of an improv crew.

I really would like to work in a shop. A good and cool one obviously. Making coffee or selling games, art, music, or other cool things made responsibly. I want to come in and make sure everything looks nice. Choose the right music. Chat with folks. That just sounds nice.

You ever accidentally say the wrong thing in social situation and agonize over it for way longer than the person you said it to remembers what happened? Well that is NOT the case for the guy who just ended a phone call with “have a good weekend.” It’s Tuesday. He didn’t just goof. He hurt me.

I DID NOT MEAN IT. I have really loved getting books in the mail and telling my son that his friend Dolly who cares about him even though they have never met sent him a book.

DOLLY PARTON MUST BE STOPPED She sent my baby a book called “the baby who stayed awake forever” that teaches babies that it is OK to STAY AWAKE FOREVER. She thinks she can just be out here sending FREE propaganda to babies willy nilly????

Worth noting that if you decide you have far too many first aid supplies and you should get rid of a portion of them, you may soon find yourself having two of your worst injuries is quick succession.

Dude working polls just explained exactly how to fill out only one half of the ballot and leave the other by explaining “so this side is the Republican side, so you’d fill this side in and ignore the other side.”

I just resisted the urge to post an utterly unnecessary shot at a famous person who is at worst- kinda annoying. Clap for me. It’s still in drafts. Don’t clap too hard or might get too brave.

I grew up in Wisconsin and I never had or heard of Wisconsin cheese until I moved to Colorado. I kind of still don’t think I can name a Wisconsin creamery. I vote to make Oregon the Cheese State.

Havening recently felt an obligation to try to get some money towards investment stuff, it seems it is almost impossible to invest in a fund without supporting at least two of the following: military weapons, ai, prisons, and non-renewable energy.

I’ve had a hard enough time with the fact that investing supports corporations, period. Much less specifically the most violent tools of capitalism. What are we supposed to do? My chances of retirement are slim, but I have to be ok with funding death and destruction in order to have a chance?

Pissed at what Steven Spielberg just did to me. I did not realize that he had that in him. Why did nobody ever in my entire life warn me? I feel like ai is a movie that should be a lot more infamous than I feel like it is? Dimension20 did a bit on this devastating masterpiece for like 20 minutes?

A lot of companies must be really thanking their lucky stars that we all have short memories and don’t remember what things really cost. Subway is not one of those companies.

That movies mostly standardize to the same viewing experience does feel restrictive to the art form. But the fact that the “(2nd) most authentic” version of this film is one I would would have to drive 3 hours for and sit in the front corner of an IMAX for feels restrictive to the audience.

We have to continue to fight so hard to get strong Progressives through their primaries. Full stop. Also, I can attest to a local race here where we fought hard for a progressive who lost. We then filed in and supported a more moderate dude. He has gotten so much more progressive in this process.

I am NOT saying we should count on this, or even celebrate it really. I still would have preferred his opponent. But we can’t check out. There are easy ways to get closer to candidates. And it is by supporting them. Candidates will always be shaped by those closest to them.

I have only fallen asleep while watching a movie four times in my life, and three of those times have been three separate attempts at watching Se7en (1995) This isn’t even an insult, I would still like to watch this movie. But it happened again tonight against all my resolve.

There is innocence. There is purity. There is chastity. Then there’s what I did in sixth grade. I was filling out a demographics/ contact type form. Absolutely crushing it. Then I got to a question that read: “Sex?” And next to the mysterious letters “F” and “M” I wrote “NO”

Sometimes when you have insomnia you will pour a bowl of cereal in the middle of the night. Sorry, what I meant was, you will pour your cereal into the bowl and then pour the milk onto a pencil sharpener.

Being a completionist is all fun and games when it comes to shows, games, etc. It’s a whole other thing when it comes to abilities. I wrote four verses of song lyrics I like and now I have to learn music theory???

I’ve been given shirts by four different candidates now so my only option is a highest quality photo shoot I’ve ever done of me and my wife wearing campaign shirts in beautiful settings. Is this good campaigning?

You’ve met plenty of Dylan Dudes, and lately it seems like the Guthrie Guys are really having a moment in the spotlight. I want it known that I am one of the world’s most dedicated Ochs Aficionados. Please help me make that one alliterative. This was the best I could come up with.

Ok, a real shot in the dark. I am totally out of friends who will play anything like this with me. To be fair to them, you need a real specific type of person who is exactly the type of person I am to be into this. Anyone want to play a game that is 50% ttrpg 50% writing prompt?

I am currently playing a two player journaling style horror ttrpg with a friend in Arizona. You can laugh, it is so much fun. But I keep scaring myself. I don’t know how horror writers/ filmmakers do it. What we are doing is intensely amateur, why am I now afraid of the dark?

The game is “tether” We would basically have to have one brief conversation then we would just go back and forth writing 1-2 page journal entries in a horror setting based on prompts delivered from cards drawn. 8 entries each I am not an amazing writer, but I love storytelling and games like this

I feel silly putting this into the void, but I figure there is a chance someone is the specific type of nerdy goof who would be open to making a new friend of a random internet stranger who thinks that a ttrpg horror writing game sounds neat.

In Colorado I had a genuinely hard time finding great local music. Most of the ones I founds were because I met member personally, but I don’t feel like I ever could find amazing websites, playlists, comp. albums, radio stations, etc. that were great for discovery.

In Minnesota on the other hand, I found all of the above in the first year here and can easily go a week at a time only listening to Minnesota bands. Maybe I just got better at seeking, but the music scene here is incredible and it does seem like artists here have each other’s backs in a cool way.

In Minnesota, my favorites are Ross Thorn, Charlie Parr, Pert Near Sandstone, Good Morning Bedlam, Pine and Fire, Claire Doyle, Creekbed Carter, Boss Mama, Saltydog, Daguerreotypes, Mason Jennings, Robb Meany, and probably some really great ones I am forgetting right now. Who am I missing out on?

I have simply moved too much to ever be a viable political candidate. And I am not even sure I would ever want to run for an office. But I want to make political speeches so freaking bad.

In Colorado Springs, most of the political districts I lived in were mostly all contained in the city. In rural Minnesota, population centers are like 5000 at most and I am not a part of ANY of those communities, so it will always feel like outsider influence. And it is harder to talk to farmers.

I didn’t follow any of the NY elections too closely (enough to do in MN), but I would cry to be in a crowd the size of the one Valdez gave a victory speech to all singing Solidarity Forever.
