I don't get this discourse at all. Coz it's ironic given that it's "Golden State". In 2016, Andrew Iguodala won a Finals MVP coz he limited LeBron into scoring 25 and not 30. Defense rarely get rewarded in Basketball, and I think we should.

Deadria@deadria101.bsky.social

People are laughing at the fact that Kiah Stokes could possibly be finals MVP, it sets a brand new precedent for what a finals MVP looks like. So often we associate MVP with scoring, however Kiah has made some timely defensive plays that kept the Valkyries in the game.

Again, I think the Dream execs are okay with this bcoz I watched that interview by the CEO last week, and Andrew Dukowitz is confirming this. It's the WNBA that wants it to be in State Farm without them doing the needed work.

This post is unavailable.

Read Andrew Dukowitz post about Game 6 being held in the morning. I said this here, I don't think this Arena decision is by the Dream, it's the WNBA & NBA. The Dream have their own court, which yes it's 3,500, but it was their own. The W wants that 14k tickets to sold.

All I can say is Camp Days needs to continue.

Dana Holtzbert@danaholtzbert.bsky.social

Between now and Thursday, we have to deal with the possibility that a team that didn't exist 2 years ago may win the Championship in an arena that isn't anyone's usual home yet during Camp Day hours. How do we rationalize this? #WNBA

I think Pablo Torre has an interview where he said Sports could also be in a bubble, with how much money a player makes and how much growth they want to have. I believe it's eventually going to pop too. www.nytimes.com/athletic/772...

nytimes.comNBA announces partnership with prediction markets Kalshi, Polymarket (Gift Article)The deal makes Kalshi and Polymarket the league's preferred prediction markets and will expand the NBA's partnership with DraftKings.

The NBA has reached deals with Kalshi and Polymarket to make them the league's preferred prediction markets partners. The companies can now use NBA IP on their platforms, while the NBA gets right of approval on markets that they offer. That and more: www.nytimes.com/athletic/772...

Oh. And I don't root for the Dream guys. Coz I never trusted Rhyne, Lish and JC, I've watched them for years. I trust Angel to still grow and be the next best big, but not her teammates.

As someone who watches the MNBA. This is true. The WNBA is what basketball should be like.

Bun@rxbun.bsky.social

Trash talk, extremely physical play, barely any 3s hit.. the MNBA is the soft league actually

The only thing I'm going to bet is when the Valks win this Championship, the media won't be about them but Angel being bad at basketball. I'm betting on it coz the Media is like that.

These UConn girls are the one balling.

Bonn Loves Sports@zangerstein.bsky.social

Truly wild that Kiah was rotting at the bench at times coz Becky... then Nat just took her. 😂 Also... UConn truly knows tons of good players. 4 are on the Valks. Gabby, Tip, Kiah and Chen 😏

This. I think what Ryan Clark said is being validated every single finals game.

Nanjala@nanjala.bsky.social

ESPN has had practically nothing to say on air about the actual basketball being played at the #WNBA finals but now they have all sorts of opinions about scheduling.

Based on what the Dream CEO said in a local news interview that I watched on YT, I think there plan really was playing at Gateway. Coz what choice to they have, but agreed that the women do deserve to be on a bigger Arena.

Sabreena Merchant@sabreenajm.bsky.social

you knew the moment the semifinals started that game 3/4/6 days needed to be open at either Barclays or State Farm -- how did it not get addressed until three days out?

I have to say it's not really an ATL FO problem coz they're okay playing in Gateway. This is a WNBA problem for having the Game 1 of the Finals at fixed sched when it should've been a flexible one. 5 days off instead of 8 could've made the correct decisions here.

Along Came Poly-4-The-W@alongcamepoly4thew.bsky.social

It's unfortunate how all the athletes and fans will pay for this foolery but @wnba prefers the valks make ANOTHER concession in the schedule to accommodate an atlanta FO problem and a severe lack of forsight. I repeat There are PPL to blame for this and it ain't the players or the fans.

Cathy is just a plant by the NBA. The real thing she won is giving her former company, iykyk, a huge growth in their investment.

Boogie@boogiefan87.bsky.social

Not only that, the media deal would have been BIGGER but was reduced for the MNBA’s sake. 🤮 #wnba

These last 3 games are on USA network too right? Coz I think, Game 4 was the last NBC coverage.

Nancy Drew: Girl Detective@sonjajacobsen.bsky.social

“Even tucked away on a pair of cable networks not necessarily known for sports coverage, Game 3 of the WNBA Finals broke a viewership mark held for over 25 years. Wed’s Game 3 between the Golden State Valkyries and Atlanta Dream averaged 1.71 million viewers across USA Network, CNBC, and Peacock”

This. Bcoz we know there are MNBA owners who doesn't give an f about the W. Silver never cared about it either, they could've gotten a bigger and better deal with the networks but he didn't even haggle.

Lula also failed on his promises. The threat of far right across the World is bcoz Liberals are not delivering. Every government is a Group (Congress, Parliament). Even if you have 1 good leader (President), if the group is filled with corrupt individuals, it wouldn't work.

Lula Goes HARD

It's no wonder why I love Bugs Bunny as a kid. Sad that he passed at a young age. 😞

Pablo Torre@pablo.show

I cannot believe that Eric Bauza has passed away, at age 46. We’d just talked about his life and his voices and his son. A shattering loss

This! They have changed this due to flight being delayed, so why not this one? Heck Cavs might've agreed too coz they're going to have a WNBA team by 2028.

Sabreena Merchant@sabreenajm.bsky.social

how in the world could the NBA not move a hawks/cavs regular season game to another date? you have until April to make that game up

The absolute worst schedule.

Alexa Philippou@alexaphilippou.bsky.social

BREAKING: Game 6 of the WNBA Finals will be held Thursday at 12:30pm ET at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, sources told ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne. It will be a double-header with the Atlanta Hawks’ game, which will be moved to 8pm.

Now they moved the date to an afternoon game. Why is it that the WNBA Finals was fixed. If they moved that Game 1 to around 3 days, I don't think there would've been a problem. 5 days rest for players, the Game 1. 😔

Nancy Drew: Girl Detective@sonjajacobsen.bsky.social

The Dream swept the Liberty 3-0 and learned they were headed to the finals on October 9. That gave the W 20 days to plan for a potential game 6. They opted not to. Now they have 3 days. And still no announced plan.

This is sadly the truth. Heck I was wishing Mackenzie Scott would've bought this ages ago. The NBA never cared for the W.

Nancy Drew: Girl Detective@sonjajacobsen.bsky.social

And don’t forget, NBA owners own about 70% of the WNBA (42% collectively and another 28% through owners who also own WNBA teams). They SHOULD have a vested interest in promoting it. But, in reality, as long as the WNBA is under the thumb of the NBA, the W will always get the short end of the stick.

CFCs have alternative for them to still make money though. But CO2 and greenhouse gases, that's untenable to them whose goal is only profit. Heck, the even calling this a hoax now. Sad.

There was a fucking hole in our planet’s *atmosphere* Like a legit, no joke, “this will unravel our entire ecosystem” hole in the world, and then we fixed it by working together across national and political lines As a species we decided, “we will survive” Let’s do that some more
