This is actually a useful prism. Every Bsky power user is within the spectrum of being Veronica Loughran's type.

I'm assuming Witkoff and Kushner with some bullshit deal about Iran or Russia or Israel that won't do anything but get some headlines before the election where it also won't do shit

Rachel Bitecofer@rachelbitecofer.bsky.social

🚨🚨🚨Trump just made another comment about how his “two big monsters” will make history next week. “So, I wonder if I should say this. I’d like a little advice from my two people, my two big monsters. My two monsters are going to be the biggest stars in the country in a week.”

CHEKOV: (confident he caught murderer) perhaps you have heard Russian epic of Cinderella? (throws down magboots) If the shoe fits, wear it. (smiles smugly for beat) (looks down)

The final stretch of the campaign is just him talking up women who stayed hitched to sex offenders. Must really want Melania on the trail for once

Can't believe Vucic's gambit of importing racist American influencers to make English-language videos about how nice and white Belgrade is didn't pay off.

Michael Colborne@colborne.bsky.social

Vucic has announced defeat

They're fucking contract soldiers! They all voluntarily signed a dotted line. Russian law bars Putin from sending conscripts into foreign combat zones! He didn't even have the balls to send conscripts to fight in Kursk...RUSSIAN TERRITORY... that's why he brought in the North Koreans.

And even the North Koreans weren't exactly poor miserable conscripts. While service is compulsory, the troops sent were from self-selecting KPA spec ops units

look folks you don't pick a name like 'Cheesecake Factory' if you don't want a clientele at least unconsciously in on the joke that it's deliberately gaudy. Count the comedy Ks in there I'm going insane.

Former presidents are just roasting the hell out of the White House redo today and it’s going to drive Trump absolutely insane

Having never been inside this WAS how I learned that the interior design of Cheesecake Factory is rather deliberately 'how you remember 90s Olive Garden' mashed with 'Caligula-themed restaurant at Disney's Hollywood Studios'

they're really trying to get mileage out of this lmao no people LOVE that he demolished a third of the White House and salted the earth of Jackie Kennedy's rose garden so billionaires could bribe him with the cavernous Temu-ass Versailles orgy den of his dreams.

'actually the nazis were far left' has always been right-wing cope but it's especially such when the conservative party in power is doing government takeovers of private industry, massive unilateral import taxes, mass media censorship, despises federalism & has fantasies of centrally planned cities.

I both expect mass pardons and also that neither Trump nor his underlings will have the foresight, imagination or patience to cast remotely wide enough of a net.

Jeff Stein@jeffstein.bsky.social

Scoop: White House lawyers are weighing preemptive mass pardons for junior staff, sources says Under discussion: Pardoning everyone involved in deportation, war, or trade policy www.washingtonsun.com/whitehouse/w...

Also he runs risk of pardoning people absolutely willing to cooperate like Cassidy Hutchinson and the Vindmans did and thus he can't sick his little pet attorney general or special birthday boy FBI director on them.

Anyway the proper way to view this story bubbling up now...pushed by MAGAworld when it's highly damaging in a midterm where corruption is a top voter concern...is because they're scared little bitches who know they're gonna lose. Especially Stephen Miller.

I suspect a lot of the drone v tank discourse as it relates to Eastern Ukraine is forgetting that this region has been steadily built up, fortified, turned into mazes of trenches, tunnels and bunkers for over a decade now, since the start of the 2014 conflict and years before the Official Invasion.

Secretary of Defense Rock@sodrock.bsky.social

The Ukrainians literally just used tanks in their most recent counteroffensive lol

It's why Russian tanks also struggled to advance there when they were primarily facing Soviet-era artillery and whatever antitank weapons NATO could deliver en masse. Only place that might be more inhospitable for tanks of either side would be the Korean DMZ with 7 decades of build-up.

And 5 years in the conventional Ukrainian Air Force (pilots in F-16s, aging MiGs and Sukhois) and air defenses have endured, preventing the massively larger and more capable Russian Air Force from establishing air dominance allowing for precise close air support to advancing tanks and infantry.

every time he defends the Vivek ad this post becomes 1% less intended as a joke.

If the Russians hacked Jared's phone then I have an educated guess what Trump got from Putin that he really really reallllly wanted.

"No. I don't care."

Headquarters@headquartersnews.bsky.social

Q: Amy Acton's stepfather was indicted for rape. Now that you know all that, sir, do you change your mind about the ad? Trump: No. I don't care

Being around for the day it happens is becoming at least a top 10 reason to eat right and exercise. Get those steps in fam

Netflix has Alien and Steel Magnolias if you want a memoriam double feature that'll give you some fucked up dreams tonight.

I support yard signs because there's a sizable # of voters who just go with whoever seems popular and the signs create a permission structure. Kind of why I'm a bit split on early voting. Letting Rs have a big advantage in who last minute guppies see in line on E Day may be hosing ourselves a bit.

James Hell Brooks@kleinman.bsky.social

Yard signs are a constant source of debate in campaign circles - are they pointless or not? I think they actually do have some value, as at the very least they can bait your opponent into getting mad and nude and red.

I especially think the former is true downballot. So many people have no clue and just check the name they recognize from the yard of the neighbor who brought brownies over that one time.

They did it

Hmmm yes give IP veto power to the guy who spent the summer insisting his CSAM chatbot was a better filmmaker than Chris Nolan.

Taylor Sheridan can make a Landman spinoff about a cowboy-coded datacenter baron but only if he gets That Guy From Wind River to be the obvious Musk stand-in.
