His Maga followers are so insecure and afraid of losing what what they perceive as their right to white male status that they get immense visceral joy out of participating in his hate and cruelty.

When I watch representatives in the house or Senate discussing/debating a bill, it all looks like performance art to me rather than serious discussion.
