Also finished Order of Ecclesia. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed i didn't like it as much as I was hoping/expecting. It's still overall solid. I very much enjoyed Shanoa as a protagonist, and especially loved her in the ending, it was really good. I think this was also one of the overall better

To the castle. For me personally it's probably the weakest of the 3 DS games in terms of enjoyment, but still its a solid game, I'm looking forward to going back to play Albus mode eventually curious how that will work exactly πŸ€” but with that complete I was finally able to move on to Belmont's Curse

And I am like 10 hours in and loving it so far. But I should probably eep so will post about it later, maybe, if I remember to πŸ˜†

Quickly change sets, which often led me to dying as you don't have much time to react to the attacks and they will kill you very quickly. I dunno, I do like difficult games so long as I find it fun, but in this case I didn't really find the difficulty fun. That being said, I thought the game had

Pretty great art direction, they went back to a style more reminiscent to before the two DS games when it came to the portraits and it looks great. Music was pretty solid but I don't really recall a lot now that I think about it, but I do recall liking the part when shanoa got her resolve and went

Enemy weaknesses and resistances were very significant in the game making it so you would want to play around with the glyphs more and use more of em which I think was a good thing. I will say personally I didn't love the final boss fight in ecclesia. It felt like I needed to use several sets of

Glyphs to properly tackle the fight and keep myself protected. The game does allow you to have 3 sets of glyphs at a time that you can swap between at will with a button combination. I never really felt the need to do this on the fly before this fight so I didn't really have the muscle memory to

Can equip. Glyphs are basically stand ins for weapons and spells. You can have two attacking glyphs equipped at any time along with one other utility glyph. I used weapon glyphs quite a bit in the first half, especially liked the scythe and spear, but ended up gravitating more towards magic glyphs

As things went on (kinda the reverse of portrait now that I think about it lol) I was especially fond of using the glyphs you can get from Albus (plus just like using it narratively speaking), alongside either the dark orb glyph or the homing light orb glyph depending on enemy weaknesses.

Most were the long corridors full of enemies. Would end up losing a lot of hp and dying or forced to travel back to town to heal up. Exploration wise, the first half of the game felt really weak, it was extremely linear. I suppose thinking about it, the first half was kind of more like classicvania

In that regard, more like stages and gauntlets you need to get past πŸ€” once you reach the castle though the game really opens up and lets you choose how to tackle things, and was overall a big improvement imo. I thought the glyph system in the game was really cool. Shanoa can absorb glyphs which she

Challenging side in an unfun way. Most of the metroidvania castlevania are frankly on the easier side outside of a few tough sections depending on the game. Ecclesia a lot of bosses healths felt really inflated, takes a while to take them down and they can kill Shanoa rather quick so not much room

For mistakes. I personally did not like some of the early boss fights, the crab especially (though the end of that fight at least was certainly satisfying :p ) the second half of the game had some great bosses though, I especially liked the human bosses. One of the things I probably disliked the

Stories in Castlevania. I really liked albus. Was disappointed by the obvious "twist" and motivation of the antagonist tho :p but still thought overall was solid, and I liked how the village, the main hub of the game, tied into the story and Albus plans. For me I felt the game went too far into the

I have finished Portrait of Ruin, which i believe stands to be my current favorite Castlevania game atm. I thought the anime art style was done better here compared to Dawn of Sorrow. I really enjoyed both Jonathon and Charlotte as protagonists. They are adorable. It's so cool how you can swap

Had a great time with the game, definitely one of the ones I am most looking forward to revisiting some day. I'm also looking forward to playing bloodlines some day since Portrait of Ruin is a sequel to it

Of settings which was enjoyable. It did lead to the game feeling more linear, and the later half of the game had you go through portraits that were very much similar to the ones you went through earlier which was a bit disappointing but overall didn't impact my enjoyment. The game also included a

Bunch of quests you could do for rewards, but honestly I didn't really bother with most of em cuz felt like a pain loll. Game had some great boss fights, I really enjoyed Brauner, and the dracula fight was super cool. Game could be pretty brutal sometimes though, looking at you whip's memory...

She can dish out so much damage quick with her magic. Overall story wise i think it was one of the better Castlevania games. I liked Jonathon having his angsty bits regarding his father's sacrifice and how he grew from it (also i like how despite the angst he was never really an edgy teen). I liked

Brauner as an antagonist and his motives and what led to his madness. Exploration wise, the game of course had the castle to explore, but the main part of the game was the portraits. Each portrait hidden someplace in the castle and you could enter them. This allowed the game to have a bigger variety

Between the two at will, and summon the other to help you fight too, plus there were parts where you needed to use both to progress. Do think they could have went further in utilizing this in puzzles but still enjoyed it quite a bit. Also I love how they shout eachother's name when swapping

Jonathon! Charlotte! I used Charlotte a fair bit at the start but ended up leaning more towards using Jonathon over time, just really enjoyed using his weapons. One of my favs I forgor the name of but it was a whip that auto tracked towards enemies and looked sick. Charlotte is great too though

Think this was my best pizza I made so far. Added 2% olive oil to the dough, cold fermented in fridge for 4 days (finally had some space I could monopolize :p), and instead of shredding I cut the mozzarella into decent sized cubes so would melt slower

Dawn of Sorrow completed. I really enjoyed it a lot. The music was great and felt like a great continuation of Aria of Sorrow. I still really like being able to get the souls of anything you kill, even if I don't like how it's RNG. I did spend a decent amount of time grinding some souls just for fun

health recovery I had on me x_x Still had lots of fun with the game. I'm unsure which of the castlevania is my fav at the moment, it's def between the two sorrow games and symphony atm. Looking forward to playing the other two DS games, I hear they are even better than Dawn which is exciting

And only a week to go until Belmont's Curse release too!! So excited for it!! Can't wait to see their take on castlevania, especially after how much I enjoyed the demo, particularly that first boss fight

is a continuation of the bad ending, which is really exciting, Also seems Arikado joins in during his mode, I am def looking forward to doing it sometime in the future. Will say game got rather brutal by the end when going for the true ending. I may have made liberal use of the rewind function to

get through the areas as quickly as I could to reach final boss without wasting potions. Though seems that wasn't necessary as they kindly gave a teleporter so I could go back near the end xD The final few bosses really made me eat through potions, and the final boss itself made me use every single

you need to draw the sigil when prompted, fail and the fight continues. I dunno I didn't really mind it myself, though I'm glad the collection doesn't actually make you manually draw them. Instead it basically turns it into a quick time event where you click the correct buttons to draw the sigil

Story wise it was eh, I think Aria was probably stronger in that regard. Also personally feel like the GBA character protraits were better than here (they butchered my boy Julius). Speaking of Julius, I unlocked his mode after getting the bad ending and I looked into it a little and seems his mode

Weak early monster but it put in work bouncing around areas damaging anything it touched, especially useful against big bosses and anything in tight rooms and corridors. As the first DS castlevania, it seems they really wanted to make use of the touchscreen. One of the first abilities you get in the

game lets you touch the screen to break certain blocks. This power ended up barely being utilized outside a few rooms near the start so eh, just some ds wackyness i guess :p they also have you draw magic sigils, I heard a lot of people absolutely hate these. During boss fights, to finish them off

though just cuz I felt a lot of souls were more useful this time around. I also liked how you could use souls to upgrade weapons to higher tier weapons (though at the same time a little annoying since again, relies on RNG :p) I really liked the slime soul, I used it for practically the whole game.

I am really having a great time with Dawn of Sorrow so far. Looks like I'm nearly 1/4 through the castle. Will say i am personally not the biggest fan of the soul grinding, but at the same time grinding is kinda chill and relaxing. Movement feels good, I like the music a lot. My main complaint

Being, and come back to em some other time~ revisit and play all the alternate modes sometime after I finish all the games and can have a fresh experience~ looks like I've explored 1/4th of the castle so far, so making good progress. I wonder if it would be possible for me to finish all 3 DS

Castlevanias before Belmont's Curse comes out... i'm really excited for the other 2 DS games i hear really good things, especially about Ecclesia!!

Is they massacred how my boy, Julius Belmont, looks compared to in Aria of Sorrow. He was so hot before!!! Speaking of Julius, I hear his mode of the game will actually change up the story a fair bit, so super curious about that πŸ‘€ though methinks i will keep ignoring additional modes for the time

Couldn't resist dominus collection afterall~ began Dawn of Sorrows, a continuation on aria of sorrow so seems fitting. Really enjoying it a lot so far. I dunno why it took me so long to get into castlevania, been really loving the series. There's a decent chance I might grab and play Belmont's Curse

I always leave out seeds for the birbs and squirrels. There's always the one squirrel who comes first to dig in, they have a friend who seems more cautious and looks around the grass for a while first before joining. Then the little birbs come join in. That first squirrel is always the last to leave

I finished islets. Overall a pretty chill metroidvania. Though it does have its tough parts, like the bullet hell sections. Actually exploring the maps was pretty fun as iko controls rather fluidly. I liked the feeling of getting upgrades, each time you find one it gives you 3 choices on what to

Game and atmosphere being cozy. A lot of boss fights ended up being a dps race for me to just kill em before they could kill me. And final boss I dropped to easy mode as it had airship bullet hell segments. Overall game was decent and I can see why people like it and the developer a lot even if not

Particularly high up there for me. I am curious about their other games, well dweller which came out recently seems to be very well liked already. Though personally im more curious about crypt custodian

Upgrade, always cool to see what you get, though would have preferred if a chunk of the options hadn't just been currency. Personally wasn't fond of the airship fights as those were bullet hells. Would end up taking a break every few tries as didn't want to do em (this does not bode well if I ever

Want to try playing rabi ribi or tevi :p) I dunno i guess I just easily get overwhelmed by the number of projectiles and find it difficult to focus on my character x-x bosses overall were a bit of a mix bag for me, feel like they leaned more towards challenging further i got as opposed to rest of

I got jumpscared by my own shadow 😭😭😭 I blame my friends making me watch horror movies every night >:[
