When I did the things people told me would make me more "acceptable" to them and they then ridiculed me for listening to them. Perhaps not exactly when I realized I was weird, but certainly when I began to lean into it.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: This sounds like a joke question, but it isn’t. If it doesn’t apply to you, fine. But it’s a serious question with different levels of meaning. And I am genuinely curious. When did you first realize you were weird?

Yesterday's activities with my partner, on her birthday. Coffing Creek Coffee in the afternoon, Tear Garden in the evening, where a nice couple gifted me a set of the VIP merch (we were peasant folk for this night out), telling me they "wanted someone to have a good night". Man, I love this scene

I’m barely functional today (it was a weekend far busier than a 49 year old should be partaking in), but ID:UD’s Tracks Post is here and you know what that means. Hit the link.

New music from Mesh, Aurat, Kontravoid, Chalice Sect, Nasdrowie, and Seven Trees. www.idieyoudie.com/2026/09/28/t...

Bonnie Trash @zBTFD yesterday in Brantford, Ontario. There's so much good, new music coming out of the area right now. Go to a show, but some merch. Never been a better time to be a music fan here.

Exclusive print I will be selling at Imagine Cinemas' Haunted Market pop-up event. I'll be doing four Tuesdays (4-10pm), and two Saturdays (6-10pm), from September 29th to October 27th at the 355 Wellington Road location in London, Ontario.

I have feelings regarding Boy Harsher generally and there's too much to get into here. That said, I'm in general agreement with the gents at ID:UD on the new album. It is what it is. In my case, though the sounds have changed somewhat, that feeling continues. Listen in for a more expansive dive.

On this week's podcast we're discussing "Get Mean", the new record from Boy Harsher. www.idieyoudie.com/2026/09/24/w...

Fun WHaT this week. My tendency is toward length rather than brevity and this app isn’t the place for essays, but both albums deserve the once over and more importantly, your attention.

We're discussing records by Landscape Body Machine and Haujobb on this week's podcast. www.idieyoudie.com/2026/09/17/w...

It’s Monday and you know what that means? I know, I know…work. But new music! At least your ears can be happy.

New songs are coming through by Datura Inoxia & Valanaïs, Wants, Neuroticfish, Tronik Youth, Unconscious, and STUKA. www.idieyoudie.com/2026/09/14/t...

An intriguing Pick Five awaits on this week's WHaT and while my brain isn't functioning enough at the moment to offer other examples in the category, I am curious about a related question. What bands have a good degree of success without ever having what could generally be considered a hit?

Flagging other good tracks by "one hit wonder" acts is the subject of this week's Pick Five formatted podcast. www.idieyoudie.com/2026/09/10/w...

Really great work here. The Queitus rarely disappoints.
