I still feel that "Evil entrepreneur creates a brand to lure in families, staffs it with similarly murderous employees, lives on through their work and the saga is only truly over when it is destroyed, not merely cleaned" is too on-the-nose to be "dumb fun" yet not out there enough to be very funny.

Funny how installers will spend like 15 minutes "preparing to install" only to then say "Turns out installing the app is not a feature supported by this installer. Whoops!"

Every social media for some reason: "You have never once been interested in pet videos. We're randomly going to shove as many into the feed as possible. Also most, if not all of them are AI generated now. Have fun!"

Now I'm wondering if by "fancy restaurant" they meant "Cheesecake Factory", because the mall (probably) isn't big enough for a Cheesecake Factory, but if that's what they wanted they could have just said so.

"The right thing to do is put numerous disclaimers that your work ISN'T made with AI" Why should I have to clutter videos and images just to accommodate those who do use AI for that stuff? Non-AI should just be the default.

Ah, the evergreen "If you're not hiring an army of artists to do your work for you, you're STEALING from all artists!" lecture. We can't all be managers pretending to run 420 successful business (you wouldn't know them, they're from Canada), some of us need to get stuff done ourselves.

"Nooo you can't just press f12 and create an image!" I can and I have. Not everything has to be a masterpiece you can get off to the thought that it will make all your enemies disappear get you 69 billion dollars in ad revenue #art #meme #blender

"Why is nobody talking about this?" and it's the thing that's been obnoxiously plastered on TV, made the star of a studio war, and talked about non-stop. Nah, I don't think a lack of getting in people's faces about it was the problem.

Who let them in? Are we going to pretend that anyone can give up on our behalf, and that it's totally different from the messaging we used to oppose? This is why I have trust issues. It's a clone wars-esque puppeting of armies mysteriously raised to fight each other with only superficial differences.

It's practically a whole industry to drop uncaptioned memes and have an army of bots concern troll in the comments. An entire platform dedicated to a programmed back and forth that pretends to hate such.

And no, I'm not going to quit art even if you think it's not valid, if you think there's some disqualifying factor, or you've taken it upon yourself to say on behalf of all artists (somehow) how sad you are and that there's no point in continuing to make art.

The trust issue being daring to question the narrative of pavlovian, bot-like responses demanding ever increasing amounts of paranoia. "If you're not one-upping our aggression, you're working for the enemy. There's nothing in between" Dead internet theory indeed.

I just did a distillation attack at the library. All that knowledge about how people write is distilled into my brain now. It was quite a heist. Now I can sound like a writer and still have no idea what I'm doing, but at least I got to steal so many words that were sitting out there on the shelf.

Hated to death in life, yet it's death is mourned as a cruel, unforeseen tragedy. But the big question is "who could have done this?" We won't rest until justice has been served. Or a week or two goes by. Whichever comes first. #art #comic

It's a strange worldview to assume that nothing at all can ever be done in moderation "Ah, you take one step over the threshold and you can't stop. You'll always want more and it will destroy you". Not everything in life is lethally addictive.

It's covering for refusing to understand the people around them because they're terrified that what they don't know could be devastating, so they come up with cautionary tales to affirm their belief that nothing good ever happens, and they're trapped in a world inching closer to forbidden knowledge.

As much as I think about these things way too much, it's kind of refreshing to do a search and not immediately be hit with a tsunami of rage and hatred towards something. Sometimes the best thing is if no one remembers, I guess.

The flipside is that it sucks that the only thing keeping a few franchises "alive" in that sense is the perpetual opportunity to make content saying how bad it is and how it ruined everything.

More pondering. It isn't funny enough to be a parody/dark comedy, though it's possible I just don't get the references. The one I did get, is one they lampshaded. ("Wow isn't it so weird that this is happening right now?") Which fortunately isn't the case for any other scenes.

Like a swipe where the top half of a body cleanly seperates, just breaks off and goes flying. It's an escalation, even after several kills. But it's somewhat cartoonish.(The answer to how he can take on something clearly 100x stronger than all the others is he just does. He's basically superman. lol)

If it's an accidental masterpiece by any stretch of the word, a remake wouldn't help. Sort of a thing where being too aware spoils it. Possibly unintentionally importing/sugesting a better story just by referencing enough stuff, without thinking too much about it.

It's not over the top enough (despite the premise!) to have any sort of energy in that direction. There are parts that are varying degrees of humorous that probably weren't meant to be just due to my sense of humour.

Now I'm thinking. Making everything into TV shows hasn't really turned out that well. But I can't shake the feeling that it could have been a TV show. It's already kind of laid out like one. The short-lived fan theory phase might have been interesting.

Obviously, you don't get that if you just release all the episodes at once. Then you don't get all the imagination of what's going next, where the clues lead to (Seemingly nothing, but still). Obviously can't do that now because again, it's already knowable what will happen.

Treading the line between "this is awful" and "This is interesting" as it is. I don't think a reboot would work without going overboard trying to fix or boost the aspects.

For what it's worth the lore is...not good. Kind of cringe. More could be said about it but I'm not bringing this up just to pretend to be angry about the lore. I'm just thinking, imagining capturing the feeling of being invested. IIRC WandaVision might have had that sort of thing.

Great. Now I'm going to have to make one of those corny video essays with a title like "How cute mascots hide a dark secret" and proceed to way over-think it only for the comments to correctly point out that I'm being stupid.

I guess the commitment to making the brand seem real (as much as one can in the span of a film) hammers home the message. If there is one. It feels like there's an obvious allegory here, but web searches mostly just yield "teehee it's just aimless b-movie fun".

Oof. Proper Halloween pack announced for October 29. That is way, way too close. If they had it out a few weeks ago maybe I would have. While it could be enjoyed all year, I'm not going to rush to try to make that nearly $20 worth it. #planetcoaster

For me the tell was when I started getting recommended these videos from a dozen different channels at once. They used same formula and style for all the videos. The channels didn't seem categorized by theme, so it wasn't just someone wanting to keep different shows seperate.

It's kind of funny to get a pat on the back for being "open-minded" by agreeing to a call for embracing discomfort and acceptance by "Yeah! Except..."-ing your way back into what's already well within what's acceptable.

"As long as it's legal" is not being brave. Anything uncomfortable is illegal somewhere, so it's not supportive to just agree the limits and persecution should stay exactly as they are. (And plays into the uncritical "If it's illegal, it's harmful" mindset)
