TryItDaily#27: LELU (jamierowan.bsky.social) is one of those games where the only way I can describe it is 2Dzelda-like. You play a bot in a factory that's slowly earning upgrades so that they can escape. You do this mostly by solving puzzles and some light combat, but every now and (1/2)
you encounter boss battles. I'm a sucker for the 1-bit aesthetic and really enjoyed exploring, unlocking new abilities, which unlock other areas, and finding secrets as I made my way through the story. It kinda gave me Nes Gremlins vibes too, try it out! store.steampowered.com/app/4081630/...
TryItDaily#26: GRINDWORM (snailbitegames.bsky.social) traps you in a mining vehicle but in a situation where you're the only person who can prevent a disaster. Use the machine to make your way to different locations, avoiding hazards, maintaining air and wait! Is there something else (1/2)
down here!? It plays similarly to IronLung in that one room horror way, though with more fidelity. I loved discovering the machine and how the drilling works, sound is great, and whilst the scares aren't that high so far, the tension works wonders! Try it! store.steampowered.com/app/3717830/...
TryItDaily#25: NONOLITH (justcamh.bsky.social). It's a platform puzzle game where you can take a part of the background and place it elsewhere. Either to clear paths, build bridges or even to make strange patterns that cause other strange effects. The best part of the world is that it (1/2)
nothing is outright explained to you. It's shown and tested and learnt, then you can take that information to a previous area and use it to progress elsewhere. I love a game where knowledge is progress. So this is an easy wishlist for me, try it! store.steampowered.com/app/4200670/...
TryItDaily#24: BALLISTIC.exe (tictactoedigital.bsky.social) is a creepy vibes filled gun simulator. Starting with an air pistol, fire pellets at targets on a shooting range - but... actually aim properly, watch out for drop distance, and steady that hand! Look, once you get the hang of (1/2)
actually hitting things, then you get to deal with strange characters, traders, upgrades and all the kooky as the noir-like aesthetic keeps you unnerved. Genuinely went from hating to loving this in a few seconds, so definitely worth sticking with! Try it! store.steampowered.com/app/5066740/...
-rescuing captives. Zombies natter away, calling out for "brains" and hearing them yell out in pain or sob cos they're being beaten had me genuinely laughing. Love the cartoony horror vibe, the brit stereotypes, and weapon variety's great too. Try it! store.steampowered.com/app/5186960/...
TryItDaily#22: BAD MAGPIE (milktooth.bsky.social) puts you as the titular birdo in search of gems - and like UntitledGooseGame - you have two abilities: to squawk and grab with your beak. You combine those to bully mice, smash glass, break walls and likely burn everything to the (1/2)
-ground. All in search of shiney magical gems from a fallen star. The fun of this game is all about exploration, and puzzle solving in a cute rural town - albeit via a birb that might have pyromania issues. An easy wishlist for me, try it out! :) store.steampowered.com/app/4813640/...
Uhhm, things have gone awry. We're a McGaveson down, so - cos it's NEXTFEST, we'll cover some more demos and maybe get to some of the ones we missed from yesterdays' stream. twitch.tv/zombiworkshop - starting now!
I love the visuals and the strange occult vibes. It's a nice touch that you're kinda stuck in your coach as locals timidly interact with you. Great atmosphere, good puzzles and, as I'm a fan of these sort of games, it's an instant wishlist from me. Try it! store.steampowered.com/app/4475210/...
Try it Tuesday time! Join us as we try out a bunch of demos and hopefully find some diamonds in the rough... and also avoid all the genai stuff. twitch.tv/zombiworkshop see you there!
2 player arcade action I'd expect and I suspect, if you have a compatible light gun, you've got another great shooter for the collection. Shoot demons, rescue innocents, destroy the office. What more could you ask for? Try it out. store.steampowered.com/app/5177030/...
the point is 'an interactive music video' it's fine. With a nod to retro games, a cute art style and a few bonuses to unlock - can't help but recommend people try this out. The full 6 track album is out already. Each one a different game, so give it a go! store.steampowered.com/app/1361240/...

It's time! If you're feeling the Halloween spirit, maybe you just want something 'a bit spooky' to wear, or maybe you're just into supporting indie artists. I've just put not one, but TWO "halloween themed" shirts up on the print-to-order site. Get them now! www.lucanstees.co.uk
TryItDaily#18:DEAD PEST(deadpetsu.bsky.social) is a story heavy game about a struggling demon chick dealing with everyday life, paying the rent and such, whilst also trying to keep her punk band rolling. You know what sort of game you're getting into when you try to use the sink (1/2)
in the bathroom and you're presented with a minigame of cleaning your "toy". :P Artworks great, tunes are great, and I loved seeing what minigames would turn up, but when you get to the gig sections is where things click. Tell me more demon-lady! :P store.steampowered.com/app/1851720/...
as I enjoyed how the chaotic combat and relying purely on the choices I had made, albeit some bad ones. Plus, the dark Amiga-like visuals fed my nostalgia whilst exploring and learning new abilities fed my curiosity. Easy wishlist, LOVED it, try it out! store.steampowered.com/app/3557870/...
So... in the absence of McGaveson on tonights stream, I think I'm going to cover some more demos... although, maybe after I've finished QUERN... yes, I'm still at it. We don't talk about it. Join us if you like. twitch.tv/zombiworkshop :)
-it uses a lot of different styles like photoshop, trad animation, pixelart, and even screenchat to reveal the story. Finding clues "online" and browsing hard-drives is cool, but as the demo is kinda short I want to know where this all goes. Try it out! store.steampowered.com/app/4867250/...
Tonights TRY IT TUESDAY will be filled with some demos from the PUNK GAMES SHOWCASE, currently running on steam. Come join us and see what you think. twitch.tv/zombiworkshop :)

-variety is needed in the mods to make you actually feel like you're able to truly break the run, but I enjoyed what was there none the less. Perhaps more horror elements or, as said, ways to vary the score would help. But try it out, see what you think? store.steampowered.com/app/5297450/...
(2/2) the highest level of presentation. We've got beautiful gothic art, some fluent combat and movement and a ton of new powers to play about with. I've played and loved every one of these games, and this does not disappoint. Unsure? Grab the demo now! store.steampowered.com/app/4231820/...

premise, but the executions good. There's an odd juxtaposition with the theme of the game and the bright colourful enemies that messes with immersion, but mechanically it's a decent arcade shooter that's like a frantic version of MissileCommand. Try it! store.steampowered.com/app/5172710/...
