Me and my sibling were wondering what the "what shall it be" game is... And couldn't find any reliable answer. I get the gist of it but not sure if there's a modern analogue or what the logistics of playing it would be. Thought this would be up your alley!

"Dipping the hand with the fingers stretched out in lac, or red dye, or flour-water, and striking the wet hand on the ground or on a wall, calling out "What shall it be?" and showing the form required—elephants, horses, etc.."

I heard about a new automatic dog feeder that can read your dogs' different tags to ensure each dog only gets fed once. Oh really? How does that work? Arf ID (read RFID)

If you're a one-album-at-a-time person like me, streaming services make no sense for you. I listened to Wave by Antonio Carlos Jobim every day for like a month. I could have bought it instead! Or just got it free from the library.

Who can say if his success is wholly, or only partially, attributable to his watch? But one thing was made clear. The people of New York have overwhelmingly voiced their support for a watch and to a lesser extent a city that everyone can afford.

The disc drive in my childhood Wii died, so I replaced it. The Wii, I mean. Wiis are so abundant they aren't really worth fixing right now. Anyway, I bought the cheapest, dirtiest Wii on eBay. No cords, no controllers, missing all the plastic flaps. But it was somebody's family Wii.

This Wii has been dormant for years. Some of the people with Miis on here could be dead now, but they are still alive inside this Wii. I know there are a few ghosts on my Wii. I need to transfer the data over. I'm not sure what to do. I would feel bad wiping the memory I think.

If I can, I think I'll let these Miis stay here on this Wii and just copy my own Miis and game saves over. These orphaned Miis can join my family-- or are they adopting us? Sure, maybe these people didn't cherish their Wii as much as I did, but I think they deserve to be preserved.

When I look at the Miis on here, I have to wonder-- where are they now? Do they know their Wii was sold on eBay for $25? Do they have fond memories of the Wii? Do they ever miss it? There's a whole family on here and I can see every time each of them played Wii Sports or Wii Fit.

Ever wonder why most people need glasses? Well, it's because we evolved to be naturally nearsighted for our own mental health. You don't need to worry about whatever's going on there.

Very few pieces of music have ever come close to doing as much mental damage to me as "Have Another Espresso" by Shel Silverstein. Once you hear it, you will forevermore be possessed to have yourself another es presso

Great set of Nancy dailies from 1944. Love the joke about nylons that really dates it to the war years Plus: - Sluggo's baldy bean: under attack - Nancy "photo bombing" a Kodak brownie picture - Surreal rocking horse imagery - Dog joke - "City pests" Yes folks, these are all winners.

Sluggo Saturday (“Nancy” strips from July 24-29, 1944):

Of the many baffling views espoused by older generations, a relatively inconsequential one I just don't get is their apparent disdain for Bossa Nova-- possibly the highest form of human expression-- and its use in public places (e.g. elevators, lobbies, stores). Bring it back!

If you get caught listening to Bossa Nova today, you'll inevitably be hit with "is that elevator music???" No, but I wish it was. In 2025 you'll elevate in silence, or if you're lucky you'll get "All the Hits of the 80s, the 90s, and Today"

"Why is everyone so aggressive and antisocial these days??" Uh, I dunno, maybe because they aren't regularly soothed and stimulated by the dulcet tones of Corcovado whenever they venture out into public.

Technology really needn't have advanced beyond the Casio Color Digital Diary CSF-4950 It can take memos It can schedule reminders It can show "tropical fish imagery" What else do you need?

The final “Fritzi Ritz” strip carrying Larry Whittington’s signature ran 100 years ago, on May 14, 1925 (shown here). Ernie Bushmiller took the strip over from Whittington, and the rest is history. Whittington left “Fritzi” to create “Maizie the Model” for a rival syndicate, but it never caught on.

"A horse is a horse, of course, of course" my first reaction was that this show was just confirming my beliefs, when i watch television i want something that challenges my world view, but what i saw next changed everything.

Happy Easter. Make sure to watch Speed Racer today to celebrate the miraculous rebirth of Rex (Latin for King) Racer as the mysterious Racer X. He died to expose the corruption of the racing industry so that the Racer family might be forgiven. He is racing. He is racing indeed!

Se la prefikso "ek" signifas, ke io komencas okazi, kaj "rano" signifas la amfibion 🐸, tiam "ekrano" devas signifi aparaton kiu povas montri subite ranojn.
