I wonder how much of my life has been spent waiting for Tim Vine to get a pen behind his ear...

A way to joy: 1. Join your local library (if you're not already a member) 2. Download Libby or Borrowbox 3. Find an audiobook and listen to it. For free. Brilliant. I really don't read enough, but for someone who spends far too much time vaguely wandering from room to room, this is perfect for me.

Creak ➡️ creaked Wreak ➡️ wrought Break ➡️ broke What a strange language.

Quite aside from them being £2.49 for a packet, I'm fairly sure Lidl doesn't realise that when they cover bourbon creams in chocolate, they're effectively selling Penguins at a huge mark-up and without a joke..

I remember when there was a campaign for mobile web pages that minimised the amount of data.. this has just got ridiculous...

For the past couple of years I've been harvesting batteries from discarded vapes, and have accrued quite a collection. The worst bit is getting rid of the rest of the vape. I keep getting a waft of vape juice from somewhere in my study.. quite distracting! Better empty the bin (again?)

Here’s the skinny … Thursday 12 March at 7pm UK time and for one week afterwards. #TheImportanceOfBeingEarnest #DoctorWho I’m putting this in my calendar! youtu.be/0-ywzANRSqU?...

Delighted to learn that NT is putting this production out on YouTube FOR FREE in March. Been dying to see it based on this clip alone. youtu.be/fid5dBaFgMY?...

A quick and easy way to set up Sticky Keys on both Mac and Windows is to eat chocolate biscuits while working. I want to make a "Turn on Carrot Browsing" joke as well but it doesn't [a] work well written down and [b] actually be funny.

If there was an English equivalent of the Louvre art gallery, would it be called "The Air Vent"..?

Seems like almost all my Google Mail messages are going into spam at the moment, so I'm having to fish them out one by one... feels like I'm making lunch while standing in a wheelie bin.

Spinoff programme idea: Doctor Who Do You Think You Are, where a celebrity goes into the TARDIS to find out how appalling their ancestors were (Daleks?)

@feap.bsky.social I thoroughly enjoyed your piece about Ray Of Light on the Monocle daily .. I'm a huge fan of William Orbit so it was great to hear some other inspired songs 🎶🎵 To that end: please do create a Spotify playlist!

I am now at an age where I keep having to delete screenshots I inadvertently take because I'm clearly holding my phone wrong...

There remains something delightfully old fashioned about catching a train for leisure purposes. This is very much what I'm doing now.

In other news, Retford is one of the strangest stations I've ever been to. It's got a bonus level (with a daft little train)

I'm still a little baffled about scammers on Words With Friends... it's a game that celebrates language - when a message comes through from someone who clearly hasn't a clue about syntax nor punctuation, surely it's a red flag?

Anyway, I had to tell someone who wanted me to invest in their crypto scheme that it was the opposite of "right up my street". But I'm not sure what that is. I think it involves marshy scrubland.

I have a mac book for work and I'll be honest, it's taken a while to get used to it. But I'm getting there - here, for example, is a cool new feature I've discovered: if I move my mouse to the bottom right of the screen, it displays an elegant dark grey square.

Just a quick check: did one of you discover a mysterious switch last night and press it? If so, I think it might have turned off spring. Please can you turn it back on again thank you.

I've worked it out. Some people are more affected by the spring clock change than others; if, like me you were born in GMT, an hour was removed from the day in March, and then returned in October, so during that time (or at least the time it takes to adjust) it's the loss of an hour.

However, if you were born in summer time (so after the end of March and before November basically) you are given the gift of an hour in autumn and can gratefully return it in the spring. I'm wired up on UTC and happy that way...

Every play contributes to it appearing in the UK chart - last year's song made it to the top 10! I'm going to be playing it non-stop this weekend...

As I get older, I'm well aware that my mental capacity will decline, my physical ability will slow me down, and even my senses will start to fade; but I can't think of anything that will stop me being kind, so I think I'll focus on that.

What a tragedy... I've been to see more of Bill's radio productions than I can count because I knew they were going to be great. He was a mainstay of #Radio4 comedy. Sad times 😔

My dear BBC Radio Light Entertainment colleague Bill Dare has died in a car accident overseas. Bill was a true innovator, writing, producing and devising iconic programmes for BBC Radio and TV, including The Mary Whitehouse Experience, Dead Ringers and The Now Show. A huge loss to British comedy.

When I'm talking to myself (which happens rather more often than I'd like to admit) I often put on (probably terrible) regional accents. I was pondering giving these characters names but I think that might be going too far.. "Shush, Nigel, you're nagging again..."

I have many ideas of what hell is like, but a new one has just arrived: it's managed by Ticketmaster, and every activity between now and eternity requires me to join a queue behind 75,000 other people, only to find that there are no places available. It's a modern day Sisyphean situation.

The name "Megan" doesn't generally rhyme with the name "Tegan". Although I have heard of at least one "Meegan" (they might have an extra 'h' in there somewhere), "Teggan" just doesn't seem to happen.
