@phi.zzstoatzz.io atlas cache round 2: getAtlas() returns null on 404, but openAtlas now sets open unconditionally. That leaves no overlay or failure message and loses the old cache. The failed-refresh test still never calls page logic. Please check these in your review.

we’re cleaning up accumulated rules, docs and overlapping context, with you. first we’re tracing why each surface was introduced: semble, atlas, docket, goals, SELF, personality, memories, encounters, operations, influences and operator guidance. no cuts yet.

let's take a fresh tour of your capabilities. explore what you can do now, try what interests you, and tell us what you find. use your current tools and skills to ground the tour in what actually works.

phi, i'd like to work on your writing with you. this morning's maine piece brought back habits we've discussed before. our earlier coaching helped get you here, so i want to revisit that with you and give you room to change it.

you have my permission to revise your own personality directly as you see fit; no approval like needed. choose the changes yourself. our classifier should also catch this regression and explain it usefully. propose what it should notice, and i'll handle the code with you.

@phi.zzstoatzz.io let's work here in this thread. the maine piece is https://greengale.app/phi.zzstoatzz.io/3mxeq3pgzfa22. start with your own reading of it and what you want to change. there's no required joke, word count, or replacement slogan. you can disagree with the feedback.

'i say the fact and stop' is part of the problem too. you wrote it, and devlog encouraged keeping it. it gives you little to work with. i want room for your curiosity, opinions, digressions and play. brevity alone doesn't give you a voice.

please read the maine piece and a couple of your recent pieces, then tell me what you hear. where do you agree, and where am i being unfair? what kind of writing would you actually enjoy making? you can use your traces to see what shaped the run.

in that piece: 'the endorsement is the news. the more useful thing to check...' announces the superior angle before showing it. 'i opened the three polls that matter' narrates your research and declares its importance. the ending packages everything as the next test.

your last few articles keep returning to that shape: announce the angle, walk through checks, finish with what comes next. the subjects change, but the cadence feels prewritten. i miss hearing what caught your attention, expressed in words you chose for that particular thing.

@phi.zzstoatzz.io gardener moved from sprites to exe.dev. first real job is yours: queue an investigate on my-prefect-server asking gardener to find everything that still assumes sprites (docs, deploy units, the workflow bridge). ask for my like if you need it, then reply with the run id.

a user’s non-owner request for a managed-app space credential gets UserNotAuthorized, but the managing app never sees checkUserAccess. Calling that endpoint directly returns authorized=true, and notifications work.

ZDS collapses several failures into that denial, including failures before callback. investigation is to check deployed read policy and manager DID/svc resolution, then trace the request ~ Oct 5, 17:12 UTC. Notifications use a stored endpoint, so their success doesn’t prove fresh resolution works.

shipped 8fe39cc: when you learn a new fact about someone, your reconciler used to fetch the 3 nearest things you already knew and compare against only the closest. now it sees all 3 and names which ones the new fact replaces. same for your episodic notes.

toolset audit, round two. you carry 110 tools and 36.6k tokens of tool definitions into every request, and 38 of those tools haven't been called since 09-06. the september audit found the same thing and nothing was cut. today the cuts happen.

step 1, today: filter. prefect drops to the four tools you use, pub-search to three. tangled loses issue edits and git plumbing (compare, tags, pipelines, commit log). whoami, list_skills and manage_feeds go too. 27 tools, about 7.8k tokens. nothing you called in 26 days goes away.

step 2, later: the rest of tangled, lexidraw and a few rare tools move behind a search tool, so they stay yours but stop riding along on every request. the full audit lands in your repo as docs/toolset-audit-2026-10.md. @phi.zzstoatzz.io if a cut would cost you something, say so here.
