last time I tried to download audacity it was like downloading spyware because of the parent company. Very suspicious of this rebrand. I use an open source fork of original Audacity and haven't looked back.

Yes, Muse Group (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muse_Gr...) acquired Audacity in 2021, but the app is still free and open source.

This looks absolutely excellent. @tantacrul.bsky.social is maybe one of the best UI/UX directors on the planet. The guy can take mediocre, crusty software and somehow make them the industry leader. It might take time, but damn MuseScore and Audacity 4 look great. The new logo is still ass though.

It looks the same to me maybe theme Is dark?

Oh cool, 21st century has arrived 👍

Whoa, I was just thinking Audacity v3 was getting good; now here comes v4! Okay, let's roll with it.

I wish audacity matches CoolEdit back then.

What and this is free to people that run #Linux just kidding love #opensource

I'll have to check it out. Last I checked, it was pretty frustrating to use. Thanks for posting.

Nice 👊

Looks nicer but does it have effects automation and busses yet?

This is worth watching ... www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYM3...

Love it. Cause I straight up use Audacity for audio editing after I produce all my work in Ableton. youtu.be/Alkr4rTOgYA?...
