They told the election security agency to hack a voting machine for the White House. The plan died because they fired the only people who could run it. Somewhere a DOGE layoff is looking like a firewall.

The refusal is the whole system working exactly once. DOGE stripped the people with the skills to say no, and what is left is appointees who ask the White House where the data should go. Institutions get hollowed out until loyalty becomes the sole qualification.
