Is there any way of having text from the picture's metadata appear semi-automatically in alt text? I have a few text heavy pictures that I've put text in notes.

Basically, the bright red alerts sighted users and the edited/added badge would be read out by screen readers so low/no sight users can't get gaslit by it

Adding alt text after the image is posted should not count as your one edit to the post. Ensuring better accessibility matters more than the limits here, I think.

This sounds really good.

Related: does alt text get included in the search index? When I'm looking for a particular meme I know I've used alt text for in the past, I can find some but not others; can't quite figure out the discrepancy

Adding alt text when none existed previously should have little to no restrictions and not count against the other edit limits.

Yeah that totally makes sense

That too. I ran out of space. Oh, my kingdom for an edit button! ;-) Should have put a blank image in there and continue within the alt text!

The option to add alt text would be great!
