A 2025 Nobel Prize winner in chemistry, Omar Yaghi is the son of Palestinian refugees who grew up in Jordan. He just left the US to move to China after raising concerns about rising anti-immigrant sentiment, like the kind shown here. donmoynihan.substack.com/p/china-than...

The three best teams in mlb at the end of the season were probably the brewers, dodgers, and padres. Brewers chewed through both the dodgers and padres. This is one of the most dominant playoff runs I’ve ever seen.

It’s just so appalling and enraging how casual and commonplace this has become. I’m out of words.

Anyone know how to determine the sku out of this? No matter what combos I used on the repair site, couldn't find a working one. #Samsonite #luggage

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

People don't know how good us Millennials had it. We used to be a great country.

So far, bummed out. New restaurant, beer taps not working, fridges not cold enough, so bottled beers are lukewarm. And no, the cooled glasses dont cool down the beer anymore than the bottle did so far. Let's taste what the food is like.

They have a pool table, football and two two-player pac-man consoles, Shoot-To-Win, Deadpool pinball, and an All-Star Baseball game. All switched off.

Big box, lots of tables and seats, lots of TVs, but audio just sucks. Some band-like speakers playing the audio from a back wall, but still some overhead speakers playing audio with a slight delay, and very tinny-sounding.

hang on, so Bleecker Street was sold to a Pierre Omidyar-backed group that also happens to back Tosca Musk's Passionflix... and now "MUSK" is disappearing from theaters?

Chicago here - at one theatre in St. Charles (31 miles) and also in Benton Harbor, MI. (Checked several apps) I also tried other zip codes and found one theatre in New York and a few in DC.

Sandhill cranes have returned to the Minnesota farm field where my father was born. His mother remembered them from her childhood, but he never saw them until a decade or two or so back.

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

Shoutout to the tens of thousands of bog workers in this picture - six humans, the rest of course being spiders.

So is the #NFL really going to postpone the game in #Paris, France because of one (1) shooting that happened days before? Yes, I know, riots possible on Sunday. But it was specifically about the shooting.

Game 1 of the World Series is tonight in Milwaukee. The average temperature range for our nearby New Berlin Wisconet station (8.33 miles away from American Family Field) on October 23 is between 37.5 and 56.3 °F. With a low of 48.4° and a forecast high of 69°, it's a warm Series start.

Trying to slip in some #bassguitar playing. Bought #Rocksmith2014Remastered and proper cable, and now trying it out. Like #Rockband but with a real instrument. Having some trouble getting my mind to work with a 5-string while the UI is about 4-strings. No longer with commercial songs.

#chicago !

Not for nothing but PBS does election night coverage and we work really really really hard on it. Union shop as well!

Oliver Darcy@oliverdarcy.bsky.social

Scoop from @brettlogiurato.bsky.social: CBS has sold its local election night coverage to DraftKings, stirring more controversy inside the David Ellison-owned company. Details in @status.news: www.status.news/p/cbs-draftk...

Dog food company: we improved the taste and quality of the dog food in between 30 years #pedigree Hopefully humans will taste that dog food and agree the taste is much better than before. How else are the dogs represented?

Ages ago @vivschwarz.bsky.social told me about these bug-noculars, & I'm eternally friggin grateful (& also to Kitty for gifting me them!) If you like looking at bugs/lichen/things in rock-pools but have shitty eyesight? They're amazing.

I know you’re just dying to see a cute little grebe diving, swimming underwater, chasing food and then popping back up again in the clear waters of Convict Lake, right?
