Microsoft: Why is everything falling? What happened to our gaming division? Xbox: You cut our funding, laid off thousands of people, shuttered studios and projects, destroyed moral, and invested everything into AI! Microsoft: It cannot be AI's fault! That is what the investors want! Blame Xbox!

Seriously. I lime and use a lot of msft products to run my business. But if copilot is their idea of good ai the stock is still over valued. Was absolute TRASH trying to get stuff done today. Multiple wrong instructions it said were 100% after it said my oarameters were “just perfectly &clear.”

Then i would try it, troubleshoot, finally find an answer elsewhere, and input it back, and it would say “oh, my bad. I didn’t understand you wanted to XYZ (the previously perfect and clear parameter input multiple times before.)

Also, yall ruined the usefulness of sharepoint. So dumbed down with little access (or stupidly hidden access) to faster more efficient ways of doing things. Soooooo disappointed in products sliding seriously backwards for a while now.

Eventually they will realize the AI-emperor is naked and AI will become a technology that cannot drive any investments for a good decade because of how massive the bubble is.

Which also kinda fucking sucks because neural nets have great use cases! It's just LLMs and image generators that fucking blow! But the whole field got conflated and now the whole field is set back decades. We're not that far from Alpha Zero and Alpha Go, but the applications have gone backwards.

Hey Bezos! Maybe you shouldnt give that 50 billion bailout to Altman if Wall Street themselves are questioning it! Also this is the exact thing that happened just before the South Sea Bubble burst. Get ready for the house of cards to crash down!

An economic bubble (also called a speculative bubble or a financial bubble) is a period when current asset prices greatly exceed their intrinsic valuation, being the valuation that the underlying long-term fundamentals justify. Bubbles can be caused by overly optimistic projections about the scale a

As a Microsoft employee, this makes me happy. But I'll tell everyone this. Recently my team was pulled into a meeting. We were told we need to use Copilot and in instances where we don't, it would go into a report and we could face disciplinary action. I'm still not using it. I don't care.

I mean at that point you're damned if you do damned if you don't. If you use it, the work will be ass and slower, and then you get laid off anyway.

From what I've been told, it's already slower. People have to use the AI to fill stuff in, and then they have have to fix what the AI got wrong, which is usually everything. We've been told engineering is working to fix these but it's been over two years at least.

I do freelance software dev, and part of that has involved working with models extensively. Barring some radical change in how they're trained, they're not going to get much better than what we have now. They might even get worse for a variety of reasons.

And they will forever be working on it because AI was 2-3 years from taking your job in 2020, just like how it was 2-3 years from taking your job in 2023 and just like how AI is currently 2-3 years away from taking your job.
