It's not going low if it's true and important. It seems crazy to me to think that accurately warning people about a self admitted abuser of teenage girls is somehow "going low". Protecting children seems like the definition of "going high" to me.

So if maybe there's legal reasons you can't say "Trump likes to rape underage girls, and knew Epstein liked it too"... You can say "Trump thought it was a funny funny gag to suggest to Epstein, on his 50th birthday, that raping underage girls is a sublime pleasure." A funny gag between two pals.

The VERY MOST INNOCENT explanation is that he knew Epstein's reputation, and thought it would be a funny joke to suggest that he ALSO liked fucking underage girls, like the two of them were in a cool secret club together that nobody else knew about. And that it was funny to joke about.

And it's not like we don't have a mountain of other circumstantial evidence suggesting that this explanation - the innocent one! - is probably not the actual rock bottom of what Trump likes, what Trump did, what Trump paid for and enjoyed.
