At 5 pm (3 hrs from now), the National Assembly votes for a special investigation into the first lady (long story), and then for impeachment right after. This was scheduled so any conservative party members walking out between votes can be caught on camera for the media—a "perp walk" if you will.

The conservative party decided to consolidate their vote for no impeachment—eight con votes are needed to pass the bill. The president issued a brief "apology" this morning, but Kyunghyang Daily points out that his 2-minute speech focused more on begging the conservative party not to impeach him

Watching the MBC feed on the subway. They are voting on the first agenda item, on the prosecutorial task force to investigate the first lady. We shall see if conservative members leave the National Assembly after this vote and before the next agenda item: impeachment
