Fragile white mediocreman whines on the interwebs…

Oh shit a talking lion, which is a very real thing, has a woman’s voice. Our downfall is nigh complete.

It's only controversial for racists and sexists.

It’s a fucking cartoon lion!!!! Jfc AP, get a new beat

Couple of butthurt dudes on twitter isn’t a controversy.

Narnia again? Why?

If you don't like it, don't see the movie. Easy.

You mean a bunch of tools are whining about 'woke casting'

There aren’t enough Hemsworth and Baldwin brothers to cast in EVERY part. Sorry racists.

OH no! Is someone upsetting the “Christian” snowflakes again who think that animation characters are real?

they take their fictionalized stories so seriously

Controversy... Those people need to grow up.

Debate? I mean its clear cut... if you have a hot take on this you probably have a TBI

I wish I had nothing bigger to worry about than the voice in some movie

I didn't see any interviews with mainliners or Catholics explaining that evangelicals are a bunch of heretics, and God has no gender.

Shut up

They're throwing Jadis's whole canon personality out the window and this is somehow the big issue?

I am NOT going to worry about this particular thing, thanks much. Lots of *other* stuff fit to worry about instead.

No it isn’t.

That’ll get bums on seats then.

Like the God of War controversy, I have a feeling that this stuff is largely ginned up by marketing teams now to promote awareness of a product. Fake relationships between costars aren’t moving the needle anymore, I guess

CONTROVERSY ON TWITTER ISNT REAL!

BREAKING: Grown adults shit themselves in a fit of anger. More at 11

This. Isn't. News.

Why would this matter in any way?

Twitter is not real life

Sigh.

Aslan is a lion. Are they angry that a human isn't the right race to play a lion?

And she was perfect.

Kevin Smith got it right on that occasion.

And Catholics lost their mind over it.

meryl streep as aslan is inspired casting. everyone mad about it is telling on themselves.

She really can do anything

I doubt that actually more than four people are upset by this.

it's cool how the group of people who are always upset by this stuff keeps getting smaller and less relevant

She's damn good at non-English accents. Remember Sophie's Choice?

It's a talking fucking animal it doesn't matter which stupid celebrity is voicing the imaginary talking fucking animal stop wasting our time @apnews.com.

Is this news tho?

No. After "omg Snape isn't Black" and "Elliot Page is playing Achilles?!?!?!" I simply cannot take any more whiny stupidity this year. I'm out 🙅🏻‍♀️

There are a gazillion interesting and important stories one could write about the arts in general, and thousands about cinema specifically. And yet, Peter, you chose to fling a few more neutrinos of pointless ragebait into the void, impacting nothing. Don’t complain when you’re replaced by AI.

Why, what's wrong with it?

One because she will forever be the voice of The Velveteen Rabbit and I might start sobbing uncontrollably
