Trump to Fox on deporting Americans to a gulag in El Salvador: "We want to do it. I would love to do that."

Whatever happened to punishment to fit the crime? What if the incarcerated individual has family who wish to visit? Do they now have to fly to El Salvador? Exactly whom is he considering for cruel & unusual punishment? Isn't incarceration a sufficient penalty?

what level of liberal do you have to be to be so attached to hypocrisy politics that your first reaction to the president saying he will deport citizens of the country to gulags is "gee, what a hypocrite, the people *I* don't like aren't going, are they, kind of a double standard"

i'm not saying you're saying that making a point about the kinds of criminals he's going after is kind of burying the lede of "the president is putting people in concentration camps" it's like if a hospital's power went out and someone was like "gosh, the automatic doors won't work now"

Despicable and disgusting. He aggressively seeks maximum distance from legal boundaries & guardrails to generate controversy & begin to normalize the behavior. Once out it takes on a life of its own. Why won’t media confront him & push back against his vial lies & repugnant lawlessness?

He's going to pick an American citizen criminal. A bad one. One where we've found guilt beyond reasonable doubt. Then he's going to deport them to El Salvador. And then we'll proceed from there into fascism. And how dare you defend such a heinous criminal suggesting they don't deserve it.

Trump ALWAYS tells you what he’ll do. He tries to add some padding or gaslighting around it like it’s only for really bad people but that’s not what ultimately happens. Those that are against him are going to disappear. AOC, Bernie, you. It’ll start with the least able to stop it. Get out now!

This is why the insurrectionist president should have been found guilty of being a traitor instead of being allowed to run again. Our fellow Americans allowed this, and they should be ashamed.

I have yet to see anyone asking the Trump administration this: "Do you feel comfortable with giving this power to a Democratic President?" Because the presidency is built on -precedent-. Once you establish that a president CAN do something, his successors WILL use that power.

I can give Americans 6 million reasons why Trump is serious about sending U.S. citizens to El Salvador’s prison. He’s already tested the waters by laundering $6 million through El Salvador’s President Bukele, who likely kept a cut and sent the rest back to Trump where it’s about his financial gain.

How fascists operate: First, he will deport Americans he deems "criminals" to gulags without due process. Then he will deport his political opposition after deeming them "criminals". Then he will deport the demographics he doesn't like. We've already seen this scenario in history.

This is beyond frightening! Democrats in Washington proposed an amendment that prohibits Federal funds being used to deport Americans. Republicans on the Judiciary Committee voted to KILL the amendment. Another extremely dark turn by the GOP/Trump Administration. www.forbes.com/sites/stuart...

I know most Fox viewers use only the emotional part of their brains, but even they must watch this and think this is perhaps a little worrying. I find it almost impossible to comprehend that there exists a huge section of American society that is, effectively, anti-america.

"Welp, I'll never end up there. MAGA." Unfortunately there are quite a few who will think this exact thing, even after the proverbial leopard has eaten their face.

Here’s the thing, I could have laughed. I would’ve laughed years ago. I know he’s nuts. It doesn’t matter, he’s doubling down on this. You know what that means. He’s gonna do it.

"I would love to do that" Trump says. Think of the many times you've said that. We say that in talking about dinner out, or a play, a vacation in the Bahamas. Trump is a sadist who would "love" to send us, U.S. citizens, to his gulags run by other sadists.

This is Dictator Talk! trump is a psychopathic lunatic,a sociopath, a monster. He’s an agent of chaos & anarchy. He’s threatening us with violence, fear,& darkness. A clear & present threat to all of us. He wants to imprison Americans. We as Americans must & will fight for the greater good & stop him

You will never hear this man use the word “love” in any context other than gleeful cruelty. Some people might “love” a puppy. Or their mothers. Or a sunset. But not Trump. The only thing in this life that he truly “loves” is the suffering of other human beings.

Joe Biden got the okay to be a tyrant in the face of certain tyranny from the Supreme Court and elected to be a lame duck and pretend like this wasn't Trump's plan while he was loudly screaming it was. He had power to do something and didn't.

That is "cruel and unusual punishment". Trump would deport anyone who has committed a crime YET he released violent JAN6 criminals that committed crimes on his behalf. Trump SHOULD be in prison for inciting those violent criminals to attack the Capitol to stop the peaceful transition of power.

The message will soon change to all “enemies of America” will be deported and he will label anyone that is against him as subject to deportation. And the DOJ has already shown they no longer will accept court rulings against the executive

💯 It's already happening. 'Suspected of crimes' is already being used. It's also why cell phones are being searched at points of entry, looking for 'disparagement of Dear Leader.'

Step 1: Get Americans used to the idea of sending “nasty terrorists” to foreign gulags. Step 2: Get Americans used to the idea that “nasty terrorists” can mean people who demonstrate, people who criticize Trump, or people who criticize any of Trump’s allies.

They're also making Americans feel they are powerless to stop it. They can, but it's going to take them being in the streets everyday fighting for their rights and freedoms. Everyone seems to be waiting for someone else to do something so they don't have to. A Canadian opinion.

Controlling large populations is easy. You don’t have to take everyone away. Just your son or daughter or parent or wife or husband. Misbehave and your wife disappears. Speak out and they take 10 innocent’s next to you. Fight back and they burn your town but leave your home standing. Get out now!

Fighting for your rights and freedoms isn't easy. People will pay the ultimate price. But I know I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees. Look at the nations controlled by dictators. Is that really living?

Foreign looking naturalised American here and I agree 💯. Maybe because I wasn’t born here and spent two years in an autocratic country but I can’t believe the apathy. I have taken on union organising and protesting weekly, distributing protest information and the lack of response crushes me more.

It’s the damn TikTok and Facebook. I spent last weekend with some folks who were not close friends, and was frightened to see how they nonstop continued to share and discuss TikTok and FB posts with each other that were not accurate whatsoever. Argued with them about the SC 9-0 ruling.
