The problem for El-Sayed’s opponents, similar to Mamdani’s, is when you have over-the-top vilification of him, and then he gives a speech like this, people then question ALL of their criticism of him. You’re the one that loses credibility.

He is the fighter Dems need. But Medicare is NOT free for the people on Medicare. There are premiums and deductibles and the beneficiaries are means tested. That needs to be clarified. He might as well say Medicaid for all if he is doing away with Medicare premiums and deductibles.

That's thanks to 40+ years of decimation of funding for Medicare since the Reagan Revolution took off. We can Medicare what it was always meant to be when LBJ fought for it. (And LBJ had wanted it originally as Medicare for All, he hoped over time it would get expanded.)
