dlvr.itMassie Targets Hegseth Over Iran War and Alleged War-Powers Violations(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) says he plans to renew his impeachment effort against Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth when Congress returns after the November midterm elections, if Hegseth is still in office. Massie said Monday that the impeachment resolution will be a “week one” issue when lawmakers return for the lame-duck session beginning the week of Nov. 9. The Kentucky Republican plans to invoke a privileged resolution, a procedure that could force House leaders to address the matter within two legislative days. The resolution contains eight articles accusing Hegseth of “high crimes and misdemeanors.” Among the allegations are violations of the 1973 War Powers Resolution involving military operations against Iran, as well as alleged unlawful actions connected to Venezuela, Yemen, the Caribbean and eastern Pacific. Massie has also accused Hegseth of failing to sufficiently protect civilians during wartime and retaliating against Sen. Mark Kelly over protected speech. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Massie originally introduced the articles in September. Speaker Mike Johnson later canceled scheduled House votes before lawmakers left Washington, pushing consideration until after the election. Johnson denied the schedule change was intended to avoid the impeachment vote and called Massie’s effort a “publicity stunt.” Massie, who lost his Republican primary this year to a Trump-backed challenger, will leave Congress when his term ends. He said he believes the lame-duck session could provide enough Democratic support and Republican defections for the resolution to advance. dlvr.itRamaswamy Attack Ad Prompts Major Ohio Newspaper to Reverse Endorsement Ban(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Cleveland, OH — Ohio’s largest newspaper has reversed its recently adopted policy against endorsing candidates for major statewide offices, backing Democrat Amy Acton for governor after concluding that Republican Vivek Ramaswamy’s campaign had “crossed a line.” The Plain Dealer and cleveland.com editorial board said Ramaswamy’s decision to air an advertisement featuring Acton’s estranged mother was a major factor in its decision. Acton has said she was raped by her stepfather as a child and that her mother remained with him after he was charged. The Ramaswamy campaign’s ad features her mother calling Acton a liar and attacking her character. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); “A candidate who uses childhood sexual abuse as a weapon against the person who endured it has crossed a line that Ohioans should defend, whatever their party,” the editorial board wrote. The newspaper had previously decided to stop endorsing candidates for governor, U.S. Senate and president, focusing instead on less-covered down-ballot contests. It said the circumstances compelled it to reconsider. The endorsement also cited Acton’s government experience and participation in an extensive newspaper questionnaire about Ohio issues, which Ramaswamy declined to complete. Ramaswamy’s campaign dismissed the endorsement as predictable liberal support. Democrats and Republicans, including GOP Gov. Mike DeWine, have criticized the original advertisement, with DeWine calling it “a new low” and urging Ramaswamy to remove it. His campaign then began airing a shortened version that removes some of the mother’s most controversial claims but still uses her to attack Acton’s credibility. The biggest surprise is that people don’t boo him and walk out.

Trump's affordability message: "You could even come to Mar-a-Lago. You'll be my guest. The problem is that for $5,000 the most you'll be able to buy is a hamburger and maybe a small dessert. I'm not even sure you could buy that! No, don't go there. It's not a good place if you're price conscious."
